Varian stable not firing

Atzeni made a meal of not placing. Loose horse no real excuse.

Atzeni was already easing before the loose horse started to come in. Obviously felt the horse was legless as he wasn't bothered for third.

Horses are fine.  That one ran better than expected - not ready and needs decent ground.

It may not have been ready but it's record on Good-Soft/Soft  is 4-2-7. Ground no excuse.

Going on what I am told!!  Looking back the Ascot Group 3 on soft was a very poor one. Perhaps it handles soft, but is better on decent ground. We'll see, certainly not off today; drifted like the proverbial.
