by Palmer.
Have to say she's looked a shadow of her former self on the few rides of hers I've recently watched. Not going to be easy going freelance.

Didn't she sustain an injury which sidelined her! Needs more rides to get her confidence back, good luck Josie!

1st time poster....  Is this what you mean?

It's PC not to knock female jockeys, but given a choice and being honest, how many punters say "hey-ho, great, I've got a female jockey riding my horse today". The best you get is "She's no worse than so and so who rode it last week".

It's better, but it's still bolloxWink

i wrotw a thread on here last summer that palmer was not using her services  i got slated .something has happened not getting any decent mounts 2 winners on this yearall weather  getting the odd mount at a meeting for a small trainer on a no hoper  this was not the way in 2016   2017  i can see a real struggle for her as a freelance  will prob end up in usa where i think she would do very well, being politically correct female jockeys are great to praise but in the end big owners big trainers on big days employ male jockeys  this statement is politically incorrect but practical reality

They fell out a long time ago - she went on an extended holiday and he didn't like it.

She acknowledged she made a mistake live in an interview with Robert Cooper on ATR - this was ages ago ...must be close to a year.

goes to prove she,s no better/worse than 50 other jocks outside those considered top dozen ,but yard, trainer, owners get guaranteed publicity and kudus, the thought of sacking dettori, moore, buick, doyle, tudhope, etc for taking time out would never enter a trainers head

She's considering going to Bahrain or Australia. She's pally with Rosie Jessop who is flying in Bahrain and another pal of hers Rachel King has made a real name for herself out in Aus. She thinks it's very tough in UK and is considering moving abroad.

She should go ;nothing to lose in my view and a pretty good lifestyle in Bahrain.

I expect you're highly delighted 1st time posters. It must have broke your heart to see another lady ride 100 winners in a season.

Not sure what went wrong apart from the injury and the holiday but the good rides dried up. According to the Whitley jockey ratings that Willo talks about, she was at the Fanning/Probert level before then, so not too shabby. Just below the cream perhaps but certainly top of the milk.

A couple of years ago Morris was a good aw jockey, but nowadays his style (or lack of ) seems to unbalance horses. Am quite surprised by this appointment.

is it not surprising a female jockey finds it so hard to make it long term in British racing when so many of our trainers are public school idiots are total misogynists

The carping comments about Luke Morris are so ill informed - 6121 rides (692 winners) last five years speaks for itself - why do you think the top judge of both horses and jockeys Sir Mark employs him - for his lack of style perhaps??

rides like that last 1 is why I have the common sense to use the figures and not rely on the judgement of people who know less than me Cool

How many winners has Rosie Jessop had in Bahrain ?I've always liked her and it's about time she lost her allowance as she has had very few rides in the pat three years.

Seems ironic female jockeys having to go to a Muslim part of the World for more opportunities.
