if i bet on a horse 24 hours before a race is this bet covered under ante post rules, all bookies and exchanges make their own rules up on the ante post rules ,so the fact that ante post betting is not stated above the race can still be deemed an ante post bet if placed 24 hours before the race goes off.anyone know the general rules.?
some books go 48 hours in advance, others go 24 hours advance and some go 48 hours for flat racing and 24 hours jump racing and others do what they like

How can a 5pm bet for tomorrows racing be Antepost, that is a day of the race market and will include Rule 4s for NR. The Antepost book (if there was one) will be closed. I have never heard of anyone "doing what they like", you have an Antepost market and then a day of the race market.

As Magic has said, once the final decs are out whether this be 24 or 48 hours then it's no longer a/p but classed as a 'day of race' market. You get your money back if a NR but R4 may apply and place terms may also change too
