Did they add a late reserve runner

peter how much is a 8" cumberland please?

No idea what went on, i watched the horse win then found my stake had been refunded, looked at 'my bets' and it said void and then disappeared without trace, i have NO idea why this has happened and can't find answers !

I know, i backed the bloody thing, why has it been voided ?

Perhaps you need to ask whoever you had the bet with.

I've had this in the past on US races when laying horses. There seemed absolutely no obvious reason why - there were no withdrawals, etc. It was almost as if some big player asked for his money back.

It appears that betfair missed a runner on their card (reserve) then they voided all bets without telling anybody or why, reopened the race with the addition of that runner in the race and still didn’t tell anybody.

You wouldn’t know about the extra runner unless you refreshed your page. That is what they say, however the additional runner didn’t show until after the  race on my page. Whole thing is a farce. They should have kept all bets or void d the race but greed for the commission is what drives them. I’ve put in a complaint but no doubt they will just bat it away

There was a race in Ireland not so long ago where they missed a runner entirely from the card. They still paid out on the race.

It's not this forum that will be dealing with his problem is it flukes?  As peter the butcher has demonstrated.

So any betting related query cannot be aired via the forum Sparrow? Betfair Customer Services are right up there with the banks and utility companies for poor and slow service in my experience so seems a reasonable option to ask on here. Fair play to Peter for his helpful reply

I don't see the point in coming on here before trying to resolve the matter first. People on the forum will obviously want to know what reason betfair have given for voiding the bet.

I think it is yourself that needs to get a life fluke. Expecting other people to do something you can easily do yourself.

And while we are about it I actually looked for the result of this race and posted it for which the OP gave no thanks at all. And what help did you give him in this matter?

He didn't ask for the result, he asked why it had been voided.

Well next time perhaps you can ring betfair and find out for him.

I bet on SA racing a lot, and if I have a bet I know exactly the score as I watch the race live, and why not, it's free to view.
If there was a runner missing from the list or withdrawn at the post I would know as it would affect the result.
Incredulous to think a bet is struck and the punter does not know that there is an additional runner in the field until 2 hours after the event.
Not too sharp.
