I am here just to rant because I am so annoyed. I know it's not about racing - but they do take bets on racing. I had a bet on Djokovic to beat Nishikori in the Australian Tennis Open last night( I know that the odds were prohibitive but I don't always bet at such short odds ) The bet was accepted. He was winning 6-1 4-1 when Nishikori retired injured. I looked in my account earlier to see my winnings - they were not there. I contacted betstars support and the person there told me because NIshikori retired early my bet was a loser. I told him that Djokovic won the match therefore I should get paid - he told me that he didn't win the match (how do you argue with that). Anyway I am here not because of the money involved (it wasn't that significant) - I'm here to tell you to be careful placing bets with this lot. I don't know of any bookmaker in the UK or Ireland that wouldn't have paid on this bet. Has anyone else encountered this? ps - rant over!!

edit - they voided the bet (it wasn't a loser - but it should have been a winning bet)
I thought it would have been a winner too. Couldn`t understand how they could make it a loser but now Void as you make clear.
Personally I wouldn`t bet with these small bookies, but I`m afraid that you don`t have a leg to stand on, it`s in their Rules:
In the event of a match starting but not being completed bets will be void, unless after the start of the match a player is disqualified. In this case, the player/team progressing to the next round or being awarded the victory will be deemed the winner.

On here (both Exch and SB) you'd be paid out as at least one set had been completed, which seems reasonable.
Another obscure firm I've never heard of, where do they find these shysters?

Loads of bookies have the same rule - William Hill , **** to name 2 well known ones.

I can understand the OP's annoyance but weren't there some rather dodgy betting activities linked to retirements in tennis matches a few years ago ? If so presumably they are covering themselves. One does hope they are voiding bets on the "loser" as well though.
Tennis has always been the dodgiest sport mainly through injuries, it is usually in the smaller non- televised tournaments.
