Depends on the jockey really but I think "courageous" was a pretty good shout for the NH boys. "Skillful" for the flat as I'm always amazed by the timing of the top guys and how they time it so perfectly to the line. I just wish they'd do it more often when my money's on them!

Most of them aren't trying to win so what does it matter who's riding them.
The booking of a certain jockey can be significant, but the trainer still has to have the horse right, and in the correct class with little else being laid out for it, if it is to be considered nailed on. And a lot of times they give the jockey a ride on the horse before the big day anyway. So you still can't be sure.
There are those who believe the jockey is more important than the horse they're riding, but again in the 2.20 at Southwell I see a lady outriding the jockey on the hot favourite.
Or was she simply riding the better horse on the day?
