Haven't seen this before, time isn't a healer but the you will be able to handle the pain better but the grief will still be there I'm sure. Just do your best to carry on, having family and/or pets will help I'm sure.

I was saying to my wife earlier before I read this that she would have to learn to use all the Computers/TVs/mobiles and other gadgets if I wasn't around and she said she would be lost without me. We have been married for 38 years and I couldn't imagine being without her.

In this instance I think jrw was right to post on here, compared to the very many inane posts we do get.

If it helps him to cope then I think it is great, we should always treat people the way we would like to be treated ourselves.

Sorry if some of you think its a daft post but tomorrow will be the first time in 45 years I can not see my wife to wish her happy birthday and tell how much I love her and putting this post up stops me crying for a bit which does help, sorry if some of you think this post is silly
By:

There's plenty 'silly' posts on this forum jrw, wouldn't worry about that!

Of course it isn't silly jrw and this thread has proved how many, kind, compassionate and caring people there are on this forum of ours. Celebrate your dear wife tomorrow, shed a few tears and raise a glass of cheer in her honour, she will always be with you in your heart and soul and her memory will be a very part of you til you join her. All the very best to you Sir.

If it makes you feel a bit better then it's a good thing to post about it,we all here might all learn a bit about what's coming down the tracks for us all.

There’s nothing wrong in general with the human spirit; people tend to go easy on others in times of need or if they see them in trouble....
But contrast this with the fact not one person giving condolences here would think twice about taking everything you have given half the chance if a mistake was made on the exchange.

Welcome to the lie that greed is good.

Just came across your thread. My sincere condolences for your loss jrw.

Nobody thinks your daft and if posting on here helps you even a tiny bit, then post away mate...

Take care.

Dustybin, do you really think that is an appropriate comment to make on this thread?

"There’s nothing wrong in general with the human spirit" Are you for real? I suggest you do not sully this thread again.

SlippyBlue

Its not the human spirit that’s at fault, it’s the manipulation of human desire.
The thread that’s on an exchange you mean?...akin to an epicurean walled garden within the hunting grounds.

I’m sorry for your loss, but people are blind to philosophy.
They’d call the condolences instances of self pity, momentary distractions from the worship of money.

But I’ll agree not to speak on this thread again out of respect....unless somebody tries to shout me down.

Hello jrw, i read your post shortly after you posted it but could not find the right words to respond,"Sorry for your loss" "Be strong, she'll always be in your heart forever" don't seem adequate when life has dealt you such a massive blow. I hope you don't mind but i'm posting a link to a beautiful song not by some youngster with little life experience but by an old hand who may be similar in years to yourself if not a fair bit older. He's passed now but his words live on. This song is hauntingly beautiful as is the video, take some time to watch and listen to it. If you look down to the 1st post under the video, it's from a lady who has also recently lost her lifetime partner.

JRW. The first day you are able to really smile at the thought of your lovely wife, that is the day you will be on the mend. We may be a bunch of crackpots on here, but it's OUR asylum, and we do care. Get up and about old boy..... it works wonders.
