the only reason that Relagate was trading at evens after they passed the post is cos people thought it had finished ahead of Satoshi - ie 2nd over the line - before the pre-stewards result was announced ...

correct toilet , but it drifted to 100s a long time before the on course announcement of the original placings .

looking at the replay , it looked like it held on for second and the market thought so too, but someone knew about 15 seconds before the announcement as it drifted to 100s form about 3s . suggesting inside info

Backed Relegate to get it in the stewards room and then realised it might not be 2nd and was able to cash out the bet.

No one is disputing what should be the correct result.  But, going by the rules of the stewards this is not in the rule book

54.5 Where

54.5.1 a horse or its Rider has caused interference by careless or improper riding, and
54.5.2 the Stewards are satisfied that the interference improved the placing of the horse in relation to the horse or horses with which it interfered,

the horse shall, on an objection to the Stewards under Part 7, be placed behind the horse or horses with which it has interfered.

54.6 For the purposes of Paragraph 54.5.2

54.6.1 the reference to the placing of any horse interfered with is to the placing decided by the Judge, and
54.6.2 if the Stewards are not satisfied the interference did improve the placing of the horse, they must overrule the objection and order that the placings remain unaltered.

54.7 In deciding whether the Stewards are satisfied that the interference improved the placing of the horse, the Stewards shall make no allowance for any ground which the incident may have cost the horse causing the interference.

wonder why whoever knew the result of the stewards before the rest of us did only backed the winner from 2.28 to 1.51, and didn't take the lot ?  maybe they thought that would alert the betfair police - aka Marjory in accounts.
By:

if it goes 1.01 4 minutes before they declare the result it's obvious.  if it goes 1.51 it isn't.

but it actually is ...

You have to ask the question why the sudden change in price? It's simple someone knew what the result was going to be.  This was not a sudden load of money from the person sitting in the house

Sherlock aka hulk, but this is obvious even to a kid in school, idiot. These events don't come along too often, but when they do, then there's easy pickings for the stewards and the families involved. They don't advertise it, but they are allowed phones in the stewards' rooms, and there's windows and cleaners for the nods. I've studied this, and when there's a stewards inquiry, the mop is always out and swings towards the room. Not all the time, but only when it's a nose, or a short head, the mop will be out listening.

2 completely different matters being discussed. Re the hoovering up by those in the know - ie the stewards - of course its a bit bent and corrupt, but then maybe foolish to leave up unmatched bets after a few minutes when the deliberations are might be expected to be finalized.

Re the actual decision, I don't know what drugs some of you are on, re the decsion being against the rules of racing. There was wanton blatant interference after the last hurdle and the victim was placed behind the culprit. The fact that another horse came up on the blind side to be 2nd past the post is of no relevance. He must de facto get promoted to the winner. What is there not to understand ??

Quite true, Inspector Toilet, but you forget the lapse of time to change the iniation time of money on the forum, and through psychological means to change the betting for the scared pundits from odds against to odds on. Easy peasy, Cutter is pleasy Excited

the original 3rd , was trading around 2.0 - 4.0 or something like that for a minute or 2 , then went right out to 100 - 200 about 15 seconds before the on-course announcement of the placings was called .

wrong...it was trading at 3/1 just before gary obrien said it was 3rd...in seconds went to 100..then crept to 600..then becos it went on a while and the 1st 2 flip flopped it went back to around 100 just before the announcement. As soon as gary obrien said it was 3rd it shud have went to 1000 as it cudnt get the race.People dont understand racing and other panic.

andyl come one - the only reason the price flip flopped from 6/4 to 1/2 was because someone within the stewards room knew the outcome and thought by not going 1.01 on the winner we'd get an easy earner without raising any alarms to the bf police.

I had know financial outcome in it, I was just an observer and there was no reason for the odds to changed so dramaitcally and as it turned out accurately. Once ruby's mount was called as 3rd the odds hardly changed on the 1st and 2nd passed the post for the first 10 mins of the stewards, 1.6-1.7 v 2.4-2.6.

Talking absolute bollox as well.  Tell us why the FPTP was odds on for 90% of the time if it was a sure thing to lose the race according to u??

andy - not disputing the FPTP deserved to get thrown out.  But the rules over here are not clear.  The winner wasn't involved in the melee but deemed to be awarded the race.  In US racing we would all know straight away.  The eventual winner would be as low as 1.05 to get it.
By:
andyl
When: 18 Nov 18 20:56
correct result..the winner was deemed to have cost the 3rd from finishing closer so they put it behind that horse..therefore the 2nd gets the race..cant see the problem.
