High numbers traditionally favoured but today the first 4 home all raced far side.

These things happen and as 'Jimbo' McGrath used to say on C4, it's where the pace is!

However, I couldn't help but notice the course layout. The stalls were positioned to the far side and there was a sort of dog leg in the rail. It also looked to me that those drawn high had a bit of a running to do to get across to the nearside rail.

It didn't quite look the norm and made me wonder if the configuration was such that it had been designed to offset any perceived draw bias Confused

Just watched it back, and it took those drawn high just under 2 furlongs to reach the nearside rail. Perhaps not surprising the principals came from the smaller far side group?
