Not sure why Saxon Warrior is being supported to turn over the favourite.

I am not really a short odds backer but I would have Roaring Lion nearer 1/2. Basically, Murphy has to mess up for him to lose and currently there is no better jock out there. Increasingly, he has developed a useful habit of keeping things simple.

He got into a bit of a mess at Sandown but that course is a shocker to ride that kind of race. Saxon Warrior had the run of the race and still got beat.

Study Of Man won a very average French Derby and is continually ridden for a turn of foot he doesn't really seem to possess. It looks as if this trip will be much too sharp and consequently he is no certainty to finish third.

On recent efforts the bookmakers will be falling over themselves should any of the others play a significant role, other than to mess the favourite about.

He looks a world beater at York, but away from there, perhaps not so 'invincible'?

Based on the Sandown form, and at the prices, Saxon Warrior would be the selection, particularly now it seems Aidan's runners have had there beroccas and are firing on all cylinders again.

Mind, it could be to Roaring Lion's advantage that he's drawn to the outer of SW, so if it boils down to a close finish between the two again, Oisin's right hand drive could see RL hanging into SW again.

Thankfully, Ballydoyle's attempt to manipulate the race didn't work. Tried to turn a ten furlong race into a mile race.

Stuck out wide on a hold up horse Murphy was at a massive disadvantage so consequently the winner value for far more than the winning margin. True pace and he destroys the second.

It was a well judged ride because Murphy got after his mount just early enough to peg the leader back.

The last furlong was as good as it gets, maybe because the mafia did everything to beat RL but he excelled.

Were you at the track workrider ?

It was a great race and two brilliant rides from Murphy and Moore.

This race is arguably now the highlight of the flat season (even the French come over for it) and always seems to throw up a thrilling finish (Galileo/Fantatstic Light, High Chaparel/Falbrav, Grandera/Hawkwing being particular classics) and the winner always comes down the outside.

^I don't think Murphy was 'stuck out wide' - he knew that was the place to be to laucnh his attack and it worked perfectly.

Of course he was out wide. You talk as if it was some sort of plan to win in a desperate finish.

The race was set up for Moore as per Rhododendron's Lockinge. All he had to do was take an early position behind his stablemates.

I was there yesterday and watched as V.Dexterity moved wide , I honestly thought Murphy was going to be more hindered by him than any of the O'Brien brigade. He was forced a little wider than ge would have liked but the horse showed tremendous speed to get up near the line in what was a pulsating race...

Roaring Lion should have won by further, and is clearly a better horse than Saxon Warrior. Saxon was in a better position coming round the bend, Roaring Lion had to come wide and still got home
