how can bookmakers pay all that money and then get treated like that, they can take those terminals everywhere and probally do,they will be tapping people on  the shoulder whilst having a p**s next to try to take more money,i have noticed at cheltenham not with the tote and terminals but they now have bookmakers everywhere,i am surprised they do not line the walkway towards the entrances and they keep charging you bookmakers more

Focus on sprint Hcaps. Give serious consideration to top weight/low draw.

did you challenge them when in the betting ring , foxy , and ask on what authority they had to be there.
would be interested in what they said. worth bringing up at our AGM a week on sunday.
" will the associations challenge it "...well they won't until someone brings it to their attention....
i'll put it on our pre agm meeting agenda

perhaps while the wheel is in motion perhaps chesterbet could be asked for a fee for using racecourse bookmakers prices.

It was reported to the BRM adge who advised them that they mustn't approach bookmakers' customers.

It would seem that it has not been appreciated that chesterbet can actually charge more than SP less than 10% at their own discretion. The rules state that other advertised deductions can be charged. On course bookmakers have to adhere strictly to the Gambling Commission's requirement to display clearly and prominately their terms of trade but it would appear that the racecourse is not obliged to adhere to this requirement and so they are able to rip off their customers.Come on GC do something about this outrage.

It is outrageous.  A bookmaker is a bookmaker.  Rules cannot apply to one and not the other.

Factmachine tends to be the scourge master of what he considers to be outrageous behaviour in our sport so what does he think about Chesterbet

Foxy, is there any way the Chester books can display the rip off terms of Chesterbet, thereby making the public aware they're being shafted? :)

Re the tracker.  Who's going to ban it ?  I can't be the racecourse because that would, I'm sure, fail competition law as the racecourse is also providing betting facilities with Britbet.
By:

The racecourses will do exactly as they please until they get challenged IanP.  What is going on at Chester is a disgrace but until they are challenged and told they can't do whatever they like it will carry on and on and get worse and worse.

. All bets on
UK and Irish horse racing are settled at ‘racecourse price’
returns. The racecourse price (RP) is calculated by taking
the industry wide Starting Price, less a maximum 10%
facility fee. On specific days, or individual races, this facility
fee may vary

Taken from Chesterbet rules
So basically they can impose any deduction they wish

All racecourse bookmakers have to adhere to the GC rules concerning fairness and transparency of our terms of trade which we are all in agreement with. However Chesterbet which is operating as a bookmaker fail to adhere to the fundamental principles of the GC in several respects.Firstly their rules are displayed in very small print and secondly they can change their deductions at any time and their own discretion. We can all help our cause by contacting the GC and asking why Chesterbet is allowed to operate under different rules to other bookmakers. We need to ask the CEO why this allowed. If you address the letters'private and confidential'they have more chance of reaching him/her.It would also be useful if the letters were copied in to your MP.Each and everyone can contribute to the cause by drafting this question in their own words and sent asap.In this way Wasnot et al can have a success in making the GC aware of this practice which unless challenged will be adopted by other racecourses. My own letters have been sent so please help yourselves and we will be successful.

Would appear that on course bookmakers are not concerned about Chesterbet. The overwhelming number of them only operating in the short run i.e tomorrow rather than looking to long runi.e next year and beyond.

Does Chesterbet pay a Marketing Fee ? The agreement for bookmakers to make this annual contribution to racecourse funds was a disgrace.
