Had my phone call returned---Told me "my ratings" are now available again--but did accept that this situation has gone on for a long time---quote--"The tec.boys tell me that this is due to scrapping--people downloading Racing post data without permission"

asked me for my email address--then checked my account( I thought this is where I get money off next time)--found the renewal is not until next May, and changed the subject!!--If it had been Oct or Nov--think I would of got some money !!

Thank you for contacting Racing Post.

Unfortunately, an undue load on our systems has again resulted in a service to our customers which falls well below our usual standards, for which we can only offer our sincere apologies. We are acutely aware that this has come at a time when we have been encountering similar problems, especially over recent weekends. These problems have largely come about as a result of outside scraping of our data on an industrial scale. We have taken a number of steps to try to lessen the impact to the website when our database is being scraped but clearly more needs to be done.

We are now in the process of identifying a series of actions, including talking to third-party suppliers, to improve performance in the short-term as a matter of urgency. In the longer term, we are also looking at ways to ensure a more robust platform for our database. Considerable resources in terms of both cash and personnel are being devoted to this effort.

While we appreciate that you simply wish for a swift return to a more reliable service, and be assured we are working towards this as quickly as possible, we have applied a service credit to your account to ensure that you receive your next month's membership free of charge.

We hope you will accept this gesture of goodwill in the spirit that it is intended and once more apologies for the inconvenience caused recently.

Kind regards,
Alistair Broadbent

Why not set it up more robust in the first place??
Cheap job they were wanting.
