The adult housefly can live up to one month in the wild
How long do flies live?
Not long if they come buzzing inside my house.
I'm well prepared for any flies that invade my property.
The regular fly swat is the first thing I reach for, and if the fly plays dirty and refuses to land I spray it with Raid fly and wasp killer.
I used to give them a sporting chance by using a large elastic band pulled back and released, a fair amount of skill is required here by the way.
Anyway, no quarter asked and no quarter given - that's the way I operate

If i'm in a fair mood i'll open the window or door to give them a chance to escape but some of them are so thick they just can't see the opportunity i've given them , so after maybe a minute of arm waving and flapping around i just say to the fly "That's it , it's time to for you to die" .... SPLAT
