if you aint got most importantly,discipline..then staking plan..you're doomed.
|

Bottom line is though having an edge on the market finding value.. you can have all the discipline in the world but if your knowledge/bets are flawed it doesn't matter what your discipline or staking plans like.

Staking METHODOLOGY - as opposed to "Staking PLAN" - willie.
NO "staking PLAN," will ever turn Losing selections - or a Losing approach/mentality - into a winning one. |

It's important that you have an edge - due to some skill, experience or contrary view point that enables you to translate opinion into profitable bets. Perhaps for you it would be in the paddock or from the gallops.
That said edge must be demonstrable over time and preferably scaleable. You must recognise that your edge is likely to erode over time and therefore you need to be continually developing it (I can give some clear examples of this phenomenon). This means that it is next to impossible to set up a system that runs itself with little intervention - which appears to be your goal. So, what do you know that others don't and how can that be exploited profitably? As much thought needs to go into how to bet as to what to bet. Gone are the days of opening the newspaper, doing some lbs per length calculations, analysing some collateral form and then backing a horse to win. It needs more nowadays. |
