Steady on boys......that was only a Listed race, following the previous race main event ( 100K more!).
I had a fair old lump on it, because of that reason......the Arc is a different story Brilliant horses has Mr Gosden got currently , for sure. |

Yes it was a shame what happened to AS, he would have gone right to the top of the trainer`s tree. Lets not forget him.

Funny story.....one day I rang Alec in his office, and when he answered the phone he said " sorry David, but you'll be best to ring back, I'm on the other phone".
Jokingly i said " well tell whoever it is to bladdy well get off the line, as someone very important is waiting to speak to you.( I'm not important at all ) Good old Alec in his so polite way gently said... " sorry David , I cant, it's Sheikh Hamdan "!!! I still smile about it now |

He always struck me as a decent guy. Trained some very good horses. He is a sad loss to racing and a tragic way to go.
