Congrats to Mark Johnston..British highest ever winning trainer
StewB 23 Aug 18 15:05 ---------- Sure that Middleham is not the, "highest," training centre in the UK ... C J 'John' Hill, of Barstaple, used to claim - "Trained at Altitude" - for starters. |

And a classic type of Johnston winner as well. The horse's 25th race of the season beaten into 5th at Chelmsford last time...
And typical that Dettori was riding as well. |

Well deserved for a trainer whose horses are Always Trying, and who also hates h'cap racing!

well done M.J. most difficult to follow .. being a scot .. probably cards to chest ,, often .. or up your sleeve .??
Have had a few crackers from yer yard .for little stake . some time ago .. now but hit cross bar very often with multiple entries gone wrong ..way ,, due to taking only one selection . understand its hard to follow .. but in end you have done it with good staff at a lonely spot . and often cold weather .. well done.... SIR .. best wishes for many more .. having been there many years ago in infancy times .. loved the area this time of the year .. Hard work gets rewarded .. need to BELIEVE that .. TO KEEP GOING . don't give up yer day job too soon . |

Ive slated him over the years the most unreliable top trainer ive come across had his best season in 20 years this one, so fair play to him and the record the scattergun approach clearly works for him, hes a punters worst enemy long term and if traditionally you left all his alone youd save yourself a fortune

everything that leaves the yard .. won't all win .. write runners down then take a pin to pick how many you want .. ...never was easy .. funny this is my worst year with him . only as a punting .. SCOT . ..A . Henry Cecil ..........he is not . A .... quiet man from East Kilbride ....... A new town when I was a boy .. LIKE ALL GOOD SCOTSMEN Workaholics .. BRED INTO THE FAMILY WELL DONE TO THEM .
Still leading world .. at large. WHAT ABOUT MR DONALD .TRUMP .. of......SCOTTISH PARENTAGE ALSO ... ? Endless .. |

Ironic that he broke the record at York, as on career stats, it's his worst performing track in the country, the only one where his strike rate is below 10%.
Is it a fluke, or something to do with the where or how he trains, that his three best tracks (all career level stake profit), are Beverley, Carlisle and Goodwood, all right handed and undulating. Whereas his worst tracks are the one like York, flat and left handed - you can add Doncaster and Nottingham. |

off how many runners?

A punters' pain in the proverbial his runners may sometimes be but it would be uncharitable in the extreme not to congratulate this fantastic feat of training. A belated tipping of my hat to you, sir. The plaudits are well deserved for you and your entire team.
