Will be plenty of decent money for this one today. Done their conkers on it last time but compensation awaits here. Evans does well at this track plus the horse has not got an awful lot to beat. As I said take the 7/4 as it may well go off even money. BOND ANGEL 13.45 CHEPSTOW.....GL.
Nice win, although never actually backed it myself but did lay the Evans horse small (£20).
It amazes me as to how naive people are who bet, who actually have no idea of how corrupt and bent the game is, and were ever expecting the Evans horse to run a race today. Some people are so naive they deserve to lose.

Dom is their anything they do pre race on non trying days like less feed/water or too much morning exercise or is it just race against pre determined biases or poor tactics?

Very testing couple of weeks ahead for my family. But have to try and keep doing the normal things or you end up putting yourself in a worse place.
I'm glad your find a member of my family slowly dying and it means I'm not doing things normally Willie. What a disgusting piece of work you are.

I could be horribly wrong here but how often do horses running in the afternoon do anything like serious work on that morning? I can imagine some having a light canter (but away from the horses ding work) or a swim but it would stand out like a sore thumb a horse running on the day getting breathless when everybody knows it shouldn't. Guving a horse a big feed and water too soon to the race is a much easier way to impact a peformace I believe. I know it's American so a bit different (I'd say they are more likely to work them on race day as so many are trained at the tracks) but:
At some point in the morning, the horse may be walked – or perhaps jogged or galloped on the track for a few minutes – for a warm-up. (Horses are never “worked” on race day). After that, and a bath, the horse will be muzzled to keep it from any further eating. Like all professional athletes, it will do better in competition on a light stomach.

Sound like a top man tbf - I hope you never take a price that shortens. Just because you are stupid enough to pay Isiris no need to take it out on other punters. Why not take the punting away altogether and have no horse racing at all?
The trouble is "ruining a price" only takes a couple of hundred quid nowadays - and lets be fair most of these prices get ruined due to the fact we see stupid little pr1cks blatantly cheating like fook on them time and time again (probably also taking brown envelopes no doubt). So plenty of punters wait and have a punt when they think they are actually going to be trying.

So using a website based in USA and believing what it states hahaha
You are both so clueless it's so unreal.
You do realise, 100m sprinters often run 2 heats in a day or two competitions in a day.
You do realise horses canter to the start on most races.
Having a gallop in the morning may take the edge off and see they run flat but you would be foolish to think it would mean they would no race at all.
If you don't think that trainers use galloping a horse the morning of a race to make sure the horse wont win, you are also very naive. I can tell you for FACT I have done it many times for a number of trainers.

Dom....just telling their jockey words to the effect of "not today" is what most trainers do......a competent jockey has numerous ways that he/she can do this .......so you have given many horses a breeze on the morning of a race for many trainers....and the stable staff have been aware of this?....or have you been told to take the horse off on your own without the knowledge of the stable staff?....

Stable staff aware and many stable staff will have done the same.
The fact is, it's not against the rules of racing to train a horse how you see fit.
Yes you will know the horse wont run to 100% in the race but the horse will be running in the race on merits but just run flat.
The jockey club are well aware of it going on.
I rode at Wolverhampton a few years ago and the stewards and vet wanted to check a horse in the stable yard before racing as they had been informed the horse had been galloped in the morning and was not fit to race, however the horse will be checked over and it will show no effects of it having a gallop in the morning. So nothing they can do.
It's not against the rules of racing, and tbh no different to say a horse which is having it's 3rd run for a mark, and in the 2 weeks since its last race, it will have only gone on the walker since at home to make sure the horse blows up in the race.
The horse will still run to achieve it's best possible position but it wont be 100% so it wont be able to. Nothing against the rules of racing, but a classic point of why blind punters face such a stiff task to back winners.
As I said this morning, in every handicap of lesser grades every day, at least half the horses running will not be running with any chance of winning.

You can't govern how horses are trained at home Charlton. Many trainers have their own gallops, there would be no way of ANYONE knowing just what goes on, on them.
I know of two trainers with a license this very moment who aren't even training their horses, and wouldn't know some of the horses in the yard if they were stood in front of them.

Does anyone on here know of a case where a horse has been breezed/worked on the morning of the race?......maybe owners/former owners/former stable staff/or with connections to current/former stable staff?.......who can give support to this happening.....as a former owner, and having worked in a yard, and having connections to current stable staff......I can honestly say it is news to me!!.....as I said before, there are other options for a trainer who is that way inclined and would prefer his/her horse not to win on that day that would not come to the attention of wagging/disapproving tongues!!

The horse won't break down, the horse will run flat, or just not to the edge.
Do you realise before the Cesareswitch, every horse canters / trots 2m 2f to the start, in fcat every race at Newmarket you canter full distance to the start.
I've seen horses at Newmarket pulling hard going very fats to post at Newmarket, which would be blowing when they get to the start and to an effect, have already run a race !
It's nothing cruel to suggest a horse gallops in a morning.
When I started race riding they races afternoon and night at Wolverhampton on a Saturday and there was many a horse who ran at both the afternoon and evening meeting.
The horse will just not run to 100% , not a welfare issue.
No different to if you went for a work out in the morning, you could still physically have a work out in the afternoon but you will probably feel a little fatigued later on in the workout.

Amington Girl is a horse of David Evans that ran twice at Wolverhampton at the split meeting.
he done it with others, so did many other small trainers in the early to mid 90s when it used to be 1.30 - 3.30 the afternoon meeting and 6.00 - 8.30 the evening meeting.

If any person reports a possible welfare issue regarding a horse running, the on course vet has to check it over and pass it fit to race, should they not and something happen to it, the anti's would have a field day.
I remember someone buying a horse cheap off Paul Howling and it was due to run a month later, he actually sold the horse cheap as he thought it had a tendon injury. He rang the BHA telling them his concerns, they checked the horse and it was sound, the horse nearly won as well, Paul was mega annoyed as he sold the horse for peanuts on the advice of his vet who told him it had a tendon injury.
However Howling clearly saw nothing wrong with the fact he was trying to sell a horse he believed had a tendon injury !

A word of warning for anyone of slightly unbalanced sanity that reads Pauls post and backs it with hard earned.
I'm not having a pop at Paul personally, but his overall success record is quite poor, although i do remember he tipped up a 10/1 winner a few years back. If the tip wins, he hangs around for the plaudits, if not, he disappears for a while without making a comment.

In low grade handicappers, at least half the field wont be trying, 2/3 will be trying but aren't very good and the one or two that are, will normally fight out the finish. The blind punter has no chance.
