Not on my daily bets but I've put £500 on this at 2/1 this morning.

As a brother to a horse I've done my spuds on a couple of times in Mori, there is a risk the family could be a bit flash on the gallops but he was so weak as  a 2yo no one could believe Sir Michael even ran him, so the result was not a surprise.

He scored a wind score 2 when scoped and had his wind done and since then the horse has just progressed rapidly.

His work companion Sextent made an impressive win at Newbury on Saturday and this looks a weaker contest.

In his most recent gallop he was asked by Ryan Moore to stride out with Hidden Depths (80 rated horse, ran to 75 on Saturday at Newbury) and he was sent 7L clear under Moore. The gallop was to test his wind and Ryan didn't hear any noise at all.

He only needs to run to 80 to win this, and he is more than capable of doing that. He needs top of the ground and he could be a very nice horse.

Ignore his debut run and he is plenty fit enough and would have run in June, but for a breathing issue.

Yard confidence is high and Moore is expected to bring this home in front.

Good luck if you play.

0- Clean Wind
1 - Minor ailment, doesn't need op, but can be operated
2 - Definite overhang of skin blocking the larynx, best advised to hobday and tie back
3 - Secondary overhnag, likely will grow back even if operated, advised to hobay and tie back, but likely will grow back in same place, tubing may be advisable.
4 - Can't breathe full stop, soft pallet looks beyond repair and even tubing not guaranteed success as wind pipe too narrow, prognosis, horse unlikely to ever be able to race to true potential, or breathe properly under exertion.

You'll be amazed how many trainers send horses who have had a wind test and scored 3 or 4, to DBS Doncaster or Ascot Tatts where horses are sold as scene and can't be returned on failing a wind test.

"Ignore his debut run and he is plenty fit enough and would have run in June, but for a breathing issue."

He had his wind surgery in May, so a little worried he still had a breathing issue in June!!!

Trysty, what don't you understand from what I have put?

The horse was in full work and expected to be running in June, but for them discovering a breathing ailment and operating. The ailment only reared it's head when he was starting his serious work (late April/early May), and they operated, and then he had 3/4 weeks on the easy list whilst recovering, and was gradually brought along again.

I never stated above he had a breathing issue in June, I stated he would have been running in June, but for his breathing ailment being discovered.

try reading what I put, rather than trying to twist my words Thank You.

....."but for a breathing issue" is not the same as "but for the breathing issue". So unfortunately your English was not correct as "a" did not imply the breathing issue already discovered. Thank You.

The breathing issue wasn't discovered when he was being aimed at a June return !!! It was discovered when the work was stepped up, Jesus Wept. There is nothing wrong with my initial post, you have just tried to be clever, mixing my words.

The Cox horse ran to a solid 82 last time out. Midi could run 2nd to it and run a perfectly acceptable return after such an absence and there are a couple of nicely bred newcomers. However Midi has been showing enough at home to suggest he can take care of this level of opposition, he would only be future glue if he was hopelessly tailed off, which is definitely not expected.
