But he certainly is no horse racing man. There must be a more suitable and knowledgeable horsey presenter than him, surely...no?

I agree with all of the above.
I need the sick bucket when he is presenting |
|

He loves all the HYPE nonsense. Many times I've seen him hosting a match on SS..and after watching a TURGID game that was no better than Sunday league pub stuff, he'll spew something out like: join us for the 2nd half of this "INTRIGUING" game of football from "THE BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD"..
That sort of artificial muck can grate on people. |

I think he has got worse but he is trying to sell racing to a mainstream channel. Anyone really think that is easy?
The cheerleaders on RUK are much worse, particularly Hislop. They are consistently telling porkies to the already converted. You have to work out for yourself what they are really saying - 'interesting card' actually means total rubbish half the time. |

I'm of the opinion that racing is an impossible sport to 'sell' to a mainstream audience...racing on terrestrial television only appeals to those with an interest in betting and it is pie in the sky to think there's a formula that'll attract the non converted especially to transmissions on itv4. That being the case Chamberlain's constant promotion of himself only serves to turn off those who already watch. I'd be interested to know how the viewing figures for the festival meetings compare with what they were on channel 4.

It doesn't take too much working out that it will have more appeal to a mainstream if it is NOT presented by the likes of Lord Snooty & Co. The whole point is that ITV offer something different to RUK. What they do isn't always going to work.

The coverage has been pretty poor this week what with Murtagh contributing nothing ,Chapman's plebian antics ,Chamberlain's dire presentation and the little arty farty bloke mincing around with the local scrubbers. Oh for a return to the days of Wilson and Rickman.

By:
"the little arty farty bloke mincing around with the local scrubbers" - Luke Harvey wont be happy about that description Posy ...

"the little arty farty bloke mincing around with the local scrubbers" Can you narrow it down a bit?

I'm of the opinion that racing is an impossible sport to 'sell' to a mainstream audience........ ----------------- That is ALL that you needed to say - as it is absolutely SPOT ON Yet the deluded, insular, and egotistic mouth-merchant idiots at 'Racing for Change', or 'Great British racing', or whatever new pseudonym that have dreamt up to call themselves nowadays ... - think that you can encompass a Charles Byrnes 'Plot' - Class 6 All-Weather 'Not Off', or blatant LAY - an Aidan O'Brien 'teaam tactics' ruined race - or Michael Stoute first-time on a racecourse' easy' .......... into exciting the promotion of Horse Racing to a disinterested DIM Joe Public. Dream On... NEVER, EVER, going to happen. |

listen to how many times the prick says in just a moment

Wasn't actually thinking of Harvey when writing that comment although in hindsight the arty farty reference could be appropriate however I have some time for the bloke as he appears to be genuinely good natured.Guy I was referring to is the little brown fellow flitting around lieing through his teeth telling mutton dressed as lamb how good they look.

Whenever they show a kid at the races, he always says 'racegoers of the future'.

What people will do in return for an appropriate financial inducement,...selling their granny perhaps eg those mouthpieces of bookies ie pr blokies.

As per usual praising Chapman for reading out a market mover that won, reading our a script ffs. There's no end to Chamberlain's vomit inducing waffle.
|
|
By:
Chapman should be shot for that farce with Hills
|
|
By:
^ Indeed - Absolutely ANYBODY could READ OUT - 'in your face' Market MOVERS
NO Praise due to Chapman - whatsoever Simply Superfluous Froth |
|
By:
He's trying to get people to think that none of us would know if anything has been backed this morning unless Chapman told us. What would we do without ITV racing and how do we manage the rest of the time...

thinks JG trains at Stanley House....Chamberlain is beyond words

He's looking after the interest of their sponsor ie 'billies'.

Haven't watched it for a while but so self-indulgent today
Look how good we are Very smug |

Whenever they show the jockey cam he always says its fascinating and wonderful.
Its the same thing every time, you see a horses head going up and down and other horses either side of it. Fascinating my ...... |
