Football season bets I have had:
Man City 1.8 - nothing original but have had a fair bet on at the price (mentioned weeks ago elsewhere), as really should never have been that big as they just seem to be miles in front of the others (and can spend pretty much what they want). I thought the 8/13 opening price looked fair enough as all things stood. To me Liverpool concede too many, Spurs haven't made any improvements to their current squad so would need a massive improvement to challenge, Chelsea and Man U just don't look good enough and are too negative. Arsenal may improve with the new man in charge but would expect he needs a bit of time to stamp his mark on the team. Championship - No prices look off so haven't bet anything. League One - Sunderland look a decent bet at 3/1 or over, even though they may well trade bigger as they have a few injuries for the start of the season, and may take time to get the new squad playing together. IF... they start the season well they could run away with it. Outside bet in League One and way overpriced imo are Fleetwood at 33/1. The unknown is the manager in the mighty popular Joey Barton, and he could be liable to have a meltdown if it starts to go wrong. But they certainly have plenty of goals in them and could be a bit of a surprise package at the prices if he does do ok. I have bet them EW at 33s along with top 6 at 5/1, top half at 6/5 looks nailed on and on the Handicap with Hills +26 at 14/1. League Two - Notts County at 9/1 EW, made some very decent signings that should make a big imapct in League two. Will be disappointed if they are not challenging the top 3 spots, and they will definitely be looking to improve 5th place finish with the signings they have made after a bit of a poor finish to last season. Multis: Man C & Sunderland double 13/2 Man C, Sunderland & County small treble 63/1 |
