I'll admit it I'm not a form guru. I look at the obvious things, going, trainer form, course form drop in class etc..not much into ratings and figures.

When it says about a horse in the RP comments 'opening mark looks on the high side' where should I be looking?

Let's use Thunder Buddy in the 2.20 Musselburgh as an example, 3 runs 705..where is the 'mark' shown in the RP form? I can see RPR, is that it?

I know a horse has to have 3 runs for a handicap mark, so how does the assesor get the this mark?

Look 4 one with an opening mark seemingly on the low side.

StillLearning - must have run three times to earn a handicap mark. It should come under OR (OFFICIAL RATING).Whether its high or low is up to you. Who has it come up against, how far was it beaten ?
