Magical Wish should not be Even money, it's ran 80 on debut, Barristan The Bold (drawn 3 births closer to the rail and also likes to go forward) has run 78 and 79 in two starts, so there is at most 1/2L between them on form.

The 3rd from it's ran when 2nd came out and won by 6L next time, but it beat a horse of Mick Channon's that had only ran to 54 on debut, and then was a well beaten 4th last week so the form is average. Critical Data has also since then been well and truly turned over at Haydock in a race where the fav also bombed out. The 5th who carried a penalty that day has won since but again in avg company, running to 79. The other two runners from the race to have run have been well beaten.

Barristan The Bold on the other hand runs from a debut 78 where the 4th won next time, the 2nd won by 5L next time and the winner won an Ascot nursery. All decent form. Those to run from behind him the race were a further 10L back, however the 14L 6th ran 3rd at Newcastle next time and the 7th ran 2nd on next start. Even the horse 15L behind him in 9th, has run 6th in a valuable Haydock nursery.

On his second start he ran 3rd at Wolves, chasing home a horse who had run to 81 on debut when narrowly beaten and he was beaten a length pulling clear of the field.

His races have a stronger look to them, than the Salisbury run of the fav and people are getting misled by one being a class 2 Novice, and the other being a class 5. The only difference is the prize money on offer, Novice races are after all just novice races so the class given to them means little.

There is a cigarette paper between them on form and the Dascombe horse is drawn one off the rail, with only a Willie Muir newcomer closer to the rail. I would expect the Dascombe horse to try and make it up the stands rail. There are again 2 newcomers between the pair, but SDS will have to work hard to get this one to lead and take the rail off the Dascombe horse which can be a huge advantage, and if he doesn't break sharply (didn't on debut), he could find himself tracking the pace amongst some green and inexperienced horses.

Evs about the one 4 off the rail, who was rushed up after a slow break on debut, and form hit and miss, or 11/2 about the one who is drawn 1 off the rail, ran similar figures and has had both it's races work out really well. I know which one I would rather back. Barristan The Bold looks solid ew at 11/2 and has a decent little 3lb claimer on as well.

fav is no good thing and is underpriced.

It'll be off unless Kirby goes rogue.
