I am a small time punter on the horses who has now had 3 accounts closed due to being reasonably succussful over a long period of time.  First was Ladbrokes, then Paddy Power, now Coral

I now go the races and hope I don't win too big as I fear this my put my account under the spotlight.

Does anyone have any tips to avoid any futher closures?

I have not withdrawn any money from any of my accounts for a number of years to try to avoid this situation

What doesn't make sense is his reluctance to win off the course bookmakers.

When you open an account DONT put your real title like Mr or Ms

Select other...

And put Sheik

That’s what I did and they lay me what ever I want.

The only problem is when they send you complimentary corporate hospitality tickets.

But you can just get a deep spray tan and stick a towel on your head and you’re good to go!

Also practice talking like SBS if they call you up...they love a bit of SBS imo and it’s the easiest to mimic imo

Strange question on a betting exchange forum. I know about that "Sportsbook" thing but he's been on here for 14 years.

Reply to the OP.
What seems to work is create your own tipping site on twitter and become a bookmaker affiliate to many bookmakers none of the genius winners EVER have trouble betting despite their amazing success.
Another is get a job working for RUK or ATR your advice can't be much worse than the guff on there and those characters never complain about not being able to bet.
Thirdly any racing/racing media job,own some horses, train some horses, become a celebrity or simply pretend that you are betting on horses at best price the afternoon before with some basic write ups and bask in the glory when they win,or even lose when they inevitably shorten in price you can even claim you 'traded' those ones.
The only drawback with the last one is you'll probably be telling alot of lies but the adulation received from the naive followers will act as a counter balance for your deceit.

Xabisfeet before you think about attempting to withdraw your winnings get some photos of your driving license/passport,bank card and statement and utility bills handy as with most you'll be jumping through hoops for days trying to get YOUR money out which had no problem going in.
You'll also find that since you've got a few restricted the info will be illegally passed on and the rest you open will follow suit unless you do your bolox in of course but most are restricted before you get the chance.

In the present day I think monitoring a customer's account is very high on the agenda of a bookie, possibly their main occupation more so than taking bets on sports.

If one is betting regularly and winning (regularly or occasionally), but in credit one would be more likely to be restricted and/or have account closed in accordance with the bookie's unofficial internal policy of monitoring betting methodology of a customer; winning accounts and closures, if necessary. The mechanisms are in placed can be easily executed, and aim achieved eg restrict one's ability to bet to pennies and/or closure of one's account.

Bookies do not want any winning punter including recreational ones on their books as this will affect their profit at the end of the day/period; anyone who can put one over their "traders" will not be allowed to prosper at their expense, I firmly believe.

On the other hand if one is a regular big punter, even winning occasionally but losing big in the long run one would be encouraged/allowed to carry on betting despite one could be betting beyond one's means. For instance, placing cumulative bets larger than one's annual earnings/disposable income using various credit cards and/or other financial services; the bookie's motto and mission of "win at all costs" must be adhered to religiously. The remote possibility of being taken to task by the appropriate authority later on should not be a deterrent as this will not happen (not many will be scrutinised, if at all) until much later, and the punishment ineffective and pitiful.

Does anyone else think that those that are betting with bookmakers at 5pm the day before especially at selective odds are either:
a) Losers
b) Liars
c) Receivers of special priviliges because of employment or status despite winning
d) Any combo of the above

In era which we are in this is the only industry that can openly discriminate and face no criticism whatsoever whilst raving about diversity (obviously self preservation).

Carrot, not so long ago, leaving winnings in the account and not making a withdrawal worked.
My guess is that winners were flagged only when withdrawals were made, and the slime then acted on that. By not making a withdrawal bookies seemed unaware that an account was showing big profits. Bizzare I know, but it happened.

More recently that approach no longer works. It seems their software is so far advanced now, it is virtually impossible to keep an account active after more than a handful of bets.

IDKW that is correct, got up to £14k with Bet £3.65 but as soon as I withdrew the curtains closed.

Thanks for all the responses.  Think a couple of big wins (ie £20 and £25!) pushed Coral over the edge

In the process of withdrawing my cash.  It is currently pending......

I'd a £20 winning antepost on Seventh Heaven at 9/1 for the Yorkshire Oaks with ***way; my withdrawal was suspended pending an enquiry for over a week and dozen plus emails and online chats; winning released and account restricted, then rescinded.

I'd never had another bet with them since; they are next to cr**ks but with a licence to sequestrate your winning and money should they so wish.

If you are on social media make this public on twitter/facebook highlighting that you aren't allowed to be a winner without special privileges no matter how small.

every bet taken is scrutinised and put through their super computer, all bets are hedged in one form or another, either individually or collectively

tracking of exchange markets is built into their internal bet software

each customer is scored, flagged and monitored accordingly, based on their betting history / strategy

mugs are retained and shrewdies disposed of
