If bookies don't rule racing why weren't all the horses taken out of the stalls so harry angel could be checked?I backed the winner so not pocket talk.

If Kirby didn't know there was a problem, how do you expect he starter to know?

I suspect the bookmakers would have taken a big hit from the Moore/OBrien winner anyway.

In Australia - He WOULD have been backed out of the Stalls - AND CHECKED by the Vet ...
Knowing the Australia racing rulers and Vets = NON-Runner 1.01 ... They are very quick to spot the sligthtest thing - and are very STRICT about letting horses run, of which there is the SLIGHTEST doubt. Even if it all happened too late to get him out of the Stalls - Australian Stewards have the authority to review the Start of ant 'Slow Starters'- and, if there was a clear incident IN the Stalls - then, again = NON-Runner 1.01. |

That would be disaster for the poor bookies over here onlooker.
Free money handed back? Never gonna happen. |

e/w punters incinerated

Presumably in Australia there is the equivalent of a Rule 4 so the backers of the winner lose out? I am all in favour of horse and jockey welfare but to pretend that punters are better off if there are refunds is just plain wrong. Some punters get heir money back, others get the same amount or more docked from their winnings.
