I would have thought Barney Curley was a better reference for Spencer.
After all Barney was quite happy to put him up when the money was down.

That filly had almost as much in hand as Barney's gambles. Spencer just said on RUK the owner told him before the race she was working somewhere between 110-115.

Barney has thousands on a horse but is not bothered who rides it then?

It works at Ascot because they usually go a pace and there is plenty of space.

Problem is he tries to do exactly the same off slow paces at other tracks and time and again it doesn't work but typically the media only emphasise how good he is at Ascot.

he aint bright enough or too arrogant to realise the ascot tried and trusted straight track  method doesnt work carte blanche @ every other track

Frank is a genius at Ascot ... he will demonstrate this once more in the Wokingham tomorrow
