Can any of you learned types help me out?  I have done a bit of Googling and other research but to no end.

Is there a stated reason why his highness the Aga Khan only has horses in France and Ireland and wherever else but not in the UK?  Probably to do with prizemoney but I've wondered this for a while and just seeing the winner at Leopardstown made me try this.

Thanks in advance.

Beat me to it, WD mouse

I couldn't remember the name, but thought it was late 80's Grin

In that article it says he was intending to have horses trained here again, but I'm not sure he ever did. Not sure why he changed his mind on that.
Report john92 June 21, 2018 6:45 PM BST
He had horses with Stoute much more recently than that surely?
Report Madrugada June 21, 2018 6:46 PM BST
One of his horses was disqualified for testing positive for a banned substance that was in his feed. I can’t remember all the details but I think Stoute trainee the animal. He appealed, lost the case and moved his horses to Ireland and France. He was very angry.
Report domino14 June 21, 2018 6:47 PM BST
He had horses with Stoute until 2006, notably Kalanisi.
Report Crawford June 21, 2018 6:47 PM BST
Thanks people.  I did see in passing an article from yonks ago when he was going to end his boycott over doping but no change since then!  He certainly can hold a grudge!

Has runners with stoute til 2005/06 im nearly sure.

Oxx was the main man outsude of France til 2013 then he shifted them all over to Weld

Halford always got the absolute scraps (backward types) with adequate success...

Dezangles used to get a fair spread of nice types but hes almost disappeared from training quality animals..

Basicaslly A De Royer Durpre IS AGA Khan LTD

Has an entire separate yard training all the beautiful families.
Report kjansch June 21, 2018 6:50 PM BST
that article is 1994..he did have horses subsequently with Stoute and Cumani

the relevant point is his lack of trust of the drug testing procedure

his studs are in France and Ireland ... so no point in having them training in Britian
Report mouse muldoon June 21, 2018 6:54 PM BST
Blush I'd forgot about Kalanisi etc because there was nothing like the furore when he pulled out for the second time.

Unlike the Maktoums, with all their MUTTAFUQAH cr@p, the Aga Khan's horses always had beautiful sounding names, even although they were foreign.

Art Decko - Leaving aside that your post is almost total bollocks, a suggestion.  Do some research?
Report Art Decko June 21, 2018 9:14 PM BST
Research completed.

Aga Khan horses :Darshaan, Daylami, Dalakhani, Vereva, Zarkava.

Maktoum horses : MUTAFAJER, MUTADAREK, MUTAKAAREB, MUTAFARREJ, MUTASAWWAR.

Game, set,  and match to Dekko, methinks.

Didn't he move his Irish horses from Oxx to Weld.
Also remember he was not happy with Johnny Murtagh when he was riding and training.
I think a Murtagh trained horse beat an Aga horse ridden by Murtagh for Oxx
