He`s had one more winner than nearly all the other jockeys at the meeting so why single him out.

Last year AOB had a hat full of Group 1 winners. How many has he had so far this year? His crop of horses are not so good this year and their running backs this up who ever the jockey.

Not having ago, respect your opinion and do agree the AOB horses aren’t so good this year....but I think his riding this year has been really poor. If the likes of SDS or Doyle were riding these horses this week I think they’d have had probably 2 or 3 winners. Let’s face it the winner he did have was set up for him...

That was a pretty good ride from Moore on the best horse tracking the leaders who could not keep the pace up. An overdue success for Hunting Horn after tackling more superior oppositions. I think this could be his optimum trip as 12f the opposition are much stronger.

Did anyone see that? Moore was given a momento to commemorate his 50th Royal Ascot winner; he chucked it back on the podium immediately after the photo op. Cheeky sort!

That was a good ride from Moore tracking the leader and taking it up easily, and away and gone in a few strides; the 3lbs concession and firmer ground proved the undoing of Wild Illusion, I imagine.

OoSG is broken in spirit, and regressing. Also messed about by tactics, and now fed-up with racing; mulish to the post, scrubbed along to go with the pace this year in contrast to last year.
A new promising stayer for at least two years to come. |

Please anyone viewing this thread watch Moore on Bond Street in the last....last 2f out runs on strongly to finish 7th...another awful ride.

The slow pace should have helped a horse who has placed at Group 1 over a mile and a half but Order Of St George under pressure way too early. Personally, I don't think he has ever travelled that well for Moore and I would give someone else a try.
Dire effort on Bond Street. Got much too far back and finished better than anything but they don't pay on seventh. That said this track appears to be a law unto itself. First two days pace collapsing two furlongs out but today you can win from the front. Impossible. |

Moore gave up on this one....horse started running on and he tried again. Probably could have finished 2nd with some effort....

Would Moore have won on Stradivarius? I'd not think so, why? Dettori was wise enough to come off the rails when the pacesetter was back-pedalling fast, and edged to his left to follow Moore on OoSG thus not allowing OoSG to get 1st run on him. Had Dettori not done that Soumillon on Vazirabad when making his run could put Dettori back in the pocket next to the rails; the many lengths lost as a result would have been too much to peg back, I firmly believe.
More Moore misery to come tomorrow, I expect, but I hope not on Delano Roosevelt who is undoubtedly the best horse in the race on known form; danger could be the unknown Raa Atoll. |

Coolmore got their tactics all wrong there. Three horses in the race and they allowed Dettori to dictate a gentle pace with the fav sitting in a very poor position.

Delano Roosevelt is poor, the jockey didn't make any difference
Won on debut beating an odds-on stablemate who hasn't won in 4 races since. Has run 6 times since debut without winning. It's stays and that's all, he needs a trip in my opinion. |

A peculiar run from Delano Roosevelt, running in snatches and lethargically, I thought; Epson induced or fast ground. Or being saved for another impending race. For once, despite Moore could have done more I'm more inclined to look for another excuse. Objective: The Leger for him, I'd suspect.

I understand that backers are sometimes frustrated with RM, but in reality, he's no different to many of the top jockeys in racing history. Of course he f***s up sometimes, but so did Lester, Gordon, et all over time. Personally I prefer Frankie, but i wouldn't have any qualms about backing RM with decent money on the right horse. He's a high profile jockey, riding for a high profile stable, often on short priced favourites, but he can't be expected to win them all. His overall record compares very favourably with the greats, and although I would place Lester and Gordon above him, he's got to be up there with the best. The colt he was on today is slow and if they ran the race another 5 times it still wouldn't win. For those that want to sl*g him off, simply lay his mounts. |
