I really don't get this.
Betfair make £180 million in the first 6 months 2017, do they really need to charge us for watching a race. Some of us don't want to bet every race, but we do still want to watch the race, perhaps for a roll up or placepot, etc.
So why make us put at least 50p on the race, apart from the obvious answer, profit!
But even there, if you have £10 for the day, you ain't gonna use more are you, not to watch the race!
C'mon betfair, remove this ridiculous rule.

That is would the providers have stipulated apparently. Not BF's decision.

What does the OP mean by 50p per race when he talks about Betfair?
£5 on here isn't it or have they reduced it?

To charge 50p to watch a race is ridiculous, greedy and unreasonable; antepost bet does not count either.

Interesting. I always assumed you had to have a bet that was net of trading.
Of course I mainly play in the US where it is free and if I do bet in the UK my minimum has been a fiver ever since I got ambitious   Happy

the only thing i thought re this, was that if you had a multi bet then you could watch all the legs for free regardless of the stake, if that's changed then i'm not aware of it
