After that run from Idaho, I am more than happy to lay SW, in my mind, he won't be winning tomorrow. Will be increasing my win lay.
|
|
By:
Why would Idaho influence your decision -he is well exposed.
|

By:
His stable is 2 doors away from Saxon Warrior and the horse in between them is Conclusion who was beaten 40L the other day. 12 horses live in the little horse shoe yard known as millionaires corner.

Forever Together and sent her immediately, not appearing to wait for Bye Bye Baby. Wayne Lordan always rode the Galileo filly with confidence and whilst he was a good 2L or so off FT when she kicked, Wayne was not in a hurry. Asked to extend with around 300 metres to go, the filly showed a sprite turn of foot as she picked up her companion in a matter of strides and burst 5L clear and was going away from FT in the process.

@Angela
The gallop bares absolutely nothing on the result, for one they worked 9.5f and in the gallop BBB was held up, secondly she played the sacrificial lamb to the slaughter today. Her fractions for the first mile of the Oaks were very strong, and off the home bend with 3f to run, she had absolutely everything off the bridle and a 4L advantage. Wayne also kept her up the centre, not. Given how fast she went, she done very well to keep galloping to the line, when it looked for all the world she was going to be swallowed up 1.5f out. So if you want to make accusations about me, that's fine, I wont lose sleep over it, and if you want to make judgements based on a race, which was ridden in a very different manner to the gallop, then be my guest. BBB will not struggle to win a group 1, probably a 10f one on soft ground, the Prix L'Opera maybe. My right up was not far off, I stated I believed Bye Bye Baby and MW would make there runs 4f out and they did, and said I suspected she would open up on the field and she did. I didn't expect her to make it but she committed early enough. If you read my write up I felt Wild Illusion would be her biggest danger and would test her stamina to the limit, and I stated very clearly, if BBB didn't stay then I could see one of the staying types like FT picking up the pieces, hence why I saved on her on my bet. I was also very dismissive of I Can Fly who was well beat and was unfancied, despite being backed. So you want to pick holes on my comments, well that's your choice, but lets look at facts today. The bets I placed on the Oaks; £200 BBB @ 7/1 Lost £50 FT @ 8/1 + £400 £30 Flatterning @ 25/1 lost £110 WI @ 3.6 Lost + £60 from Win Bets £1000 4 Place BBB @ 2.10 = + £1065 £100 4 place Flattering Lost - £100 £965 profit on 4 place bets 2 Place market £300 Liability Lay Magic Wand @ 2.68 Won = + £168 So in total + £168, + £965, + £60 Total Profit £1193.00 Feel free to pick holes any time you wish. |

To be fair and I’m probably going to upset a few with this but there’s a big difference between a 12f+ G1 in Japan and some of the races over similar distances we get here.
To put it bluntly...as good as DI was he failed on the Arc and so has several of his sons and daughters. A top class European 12f has just eluded them...for whatever reason. Granted this is one of the first to be trained here and by someone who knows what he’s doing. On the dam side Maybe was was well beaten off in the Oaks so there is a chance tomorrow might stretch him. But Classic Form = Classic Form and apart from Roaring LOON I don’t think there’s anything overly high class to beat. |

Why would she be the sacrificial lamb if she was the best of his horses as you said

One could ask why did he run Horatio Nelson when his Vet ordered him not to.
|
|
By:
I think it was evidently clear AOB knew who his main adversary was ie Wild Illusion (on form, at least) thus sending Bye Bye Baby (BBB) to try and stretch her stamina to the limit. And he succeeded, BBB nearly stole the race, and Together Forever outstayed Wild Illusion (WI) at the finish. Also, WI did not have the race run to suit eg behind and sandwiched between AOB's inmates. It was not ideal but made little difference to the end result, I believe.
Forever Together (FT) looked impressive, but how good was WI? FT is 13/8 for the Irish Oaks - very skinny - and 10/1 for the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot. Will she run though? Several more superior stablemates yet to show their hands eg Happily, September and Magical; Minding won the Oaks but did not run in the Irish equivalent; Even Song won the Ribblesdale but Seventh Heaven triumphed in the Irish and Yorkshire Oaks. |

Domino, I have a question for you please. I have lumped on SW at approx even money. Now, without blowing my trumpet I think I'm a half decent reader of the form-book. Do you honestly think I've done my dough in?
