I had to do a double take at this one's price last time, it was absolutely hammered in the betting - someone, somewhere was clearly expecting better!
The main question today regarding his chance is: will he get the 2m trip? He ran over 14f at York last season and appeared not to stay, but that was in the red hot Melrose Handicap and he was close to the pace in a race that set up for the closers. That was class 2, today is class 5, and he'd previously left the impression, at least on a decent surface, that he stays well. He's essentially been a disappointment, but the two mile trip looks a worth a go. |

Taking a closer look at his form, a decent surface could be the key to him, and he looks well handicapped on the Brinham Rocks and Uber Cool form from Hamilton & Thirsk last year.
Against that, he's only one from 10, he has looked a hard ride who can't take some rousting and he's not wearing them blinkers to keep his head warm! |
