I've just agreed the purchase of a house in Poole's Lane in Chelsea and will be completed within 3 weeks, Cost £1,480,000. Had to pay holding fee of £80,000 on Monday. No mortgage needed. Will be moved in by June 1st, with my wife and 3 children.
It was my wife who wanted to move more into central London, due to work commitments. |

I mainly use Betfair for Casino
I use the exchange and sports betting and if you're Diamond VIP you get a lot of good perks from Betfair If I play £1,000 a day on Casino, Betfair give me £30 free casino credit, 20 free spins, £50 free sportsbook bet. They have been doing this for the last week or so But at least 2 or 3 times a week I get given decent bonuses like £500 match, or £1000 match with x 5 Wagering. I've not won anywhere near enough exchange to have to pay Premium Charge, but I am close to £220,000 in profit using the Casino in the last 2 years. But I'm £2,300 down overall on exchange although was about £3000 earlier in the year, and I'm about £15,000 down on the Sportsbook but will be in profit if Rotherham, and Aston Villa get promoted, and if Swansea get relegated. |

My wife is successful in her own right but her Dad is a retired CEO of an Investmet Bank in London and he helped us out and set my wife up in business and he bought me cars and paid for insurance and petrol when I was riding so our family could have a nice upbringing. He bought us our house when we moved back to the Uk some 8/9 years ago which we sold last year for 600K and I've had some good Poker winnings and other investments do well, and I am now a leading UK based Nature & Sports Photographer and it pays very well. We've basically put everything we have now together to buy this house, but it will be mortgage free, and my wife's parents are always happy to help if our kids need anything. I will have to bet less and play poker less whilst things are tighter for the next year or two, but my Father in law is my sponsor in Poker and puts up all my entry fee's for half of the winnings and we're both over 150K to the good so it works for both of us. I've never found the desire to live up north, on the whole the people are much better (my wife was born in Barnsley but moved to London aged 9) but work is tougher and the schools are worse. I'm not overly keen on moving to the centre of London but it's what my wife wants so I'm not going to argue. I spend much of my life on the road for Work, but I work in Newmarket a bit, and plenty of places in Suffolk and Essex, as well as working sometimes in Colchester for a big client, It's going to add a little bit more on my journey times, but a happy marriage means a happy life. |

I rode for around 11 years, I know exactly how bent racing is and I know in a race less than 20% of the horses are there to win, why would I want to bet big on something which is funded by corrupt money. I even rode horses myself that I knew had been given substances to aid them but it meant they couldn't win on that occasion as it would show up in a dope test so you had to make sure you were in a position where you didn't have a winning chance. Over in France and Germany it was far better, I can't ever recall a single ride where the instructions I got were negative, in the UK, I would say it is close to 80-85% of riding instructions basically make it clear the horse will not win. Anyone betting big on UK horse racing is either brave, in the know, or foolish. You don't bet, you scalp but it's time consuming and you pay large fees so you have an advantage over the normal punter and that's all well and good and respected, but I wouldn't call that gambling. Anyone who bets blind to big stakes on UK horse racing would be better off just giving their money to charity, but that's only my opinion. |

@Willie Anyone betting big on UK horse racing is either brave, in the know, or foolish. wernt you having £500's and £250's on last week? |
|
By:
@Mouse
Yes, but he prefers investments in stocks and shares. He spent over 30 years in Investment Banking so has a well built wealth and knowledge of certain sectors, but we all went to the Casino together in Vegas last year when I was playing Poker and he was happily playing Cash Poker for $20,000 sit down, and he doesn't know much about Poker, he just wanted to spend time with me and join in. We are all going to Chester tomorrow and he asked me this morning if I had heard anything and told him that My Lord And Master & Christopher Robin are two I have very strong info for and he was talking about getting £10,000 out the bank to have a bet on them up there tomorrow. He bought a couple of horses for me to ride when my career was struggling a little to try and help out, but they weren't very good. He still has one horse in training with a trainer in Berkshire, and I go and ride it out once a month to report back to him what I think about it. |
|
By:
The only time I bet is when I have info on a horse, I can take it being good or bad Willie. But I wouldn't bet those sums unless I had the horse very strong.
I am having £250 on My Lord And Master tomorrow, and £500 EW on Christopher Robin - I am waiting for the sportsbook to price up, but seen he is 100/300 in some places. I may have an ew double as well. |

domino , are you the guy that said he came third in the german st leger ?

I personally think they changed their minds and stopped it. The horse works significantly better than Hunting Horn, and Yucatan at home. Off 81 he has no excuses. The ground also was probably too deep for him last time and he can be quirky and keen, and both types of horses are suited to Chester. My contact at APOB sent me a load of notes this morning on all their runners this week and the ones today were largely accurate, frustratingly I had a small bet on Magic Wand, but a fair bit bigger one on Together Forever who I've mentioned on other threads in recent weeks on here, as she is the yards main Oaks filly at present and they kind of expected her to win today, or it least push Ryan very close. She is a very classy filly but hasn't been easy to train this spring, and was probably 85% today but will come tons before Epsom.
My contact's Nap of the week is Christopher Robin and he told on Friday we was betting Saxon Warrior on Saturday and whatever he won was going on Christopher Robin at Chester, so I am more than happy to follow suit. |

Domino, I have ridden a placed horse in the German St Leger, it's normally bottomless ground in Dortmund when it's run, and the day I was placed the ground was bottomless and everything felt like it was walking from 500 metres out.
