For an advocate of a total whip ban to eulogise over Richard Johnson's Gold Cup ride (RP today) is nothing short of hypocricy. How he could bring himself to watch the  climax of what I consider to have been  a great race, speaks volumes for the double standards both he, and his paper, portray.

But, on the point raised, how can anyone advocate a total whip ban - presumebly on welfare grounds - and then suffer horses being whipped. Hypocrisy,I say!
