For an advocate of a total whip ban to eulogise over Richard Johnson's Gold Cup ride (RP today) is nothing short of hypocricy. How he could bring himself to watch the climax of what I consider to have been a great race, speaks volumes for the double standards both he, and his paper, portray.

You should have seen the ride just given by Buffalo Bill on Pony Express, used the whip about a Thousand times
He knows nothing about Horse Racing - and never has.
Started his 'Career' as a card make-up kid man on the GREYHOUND Desk....
Then moved to 'Sports Betting' - thinking that he knew about that, too - probably because he is a Crystal Palace fan.

I didn't buy it Deptford , old man, I read it in the betting parlour.
But, on the point raised, how can anyone advocate a total whip ban - presumebly on welfare grounds - and then suffer horses being whipped. Hypocrisy,I say!
I wouldn't expect anything different from the clown, anyone that employs Birchy needs urgent medical attention
