Unless you have a genuinely top class horse the percentage call is that gearing your whole season round trying to win at the Festival will end in disappointment.

Totally agree.
If I had a decent horse I would avoid Cheltenham altogether.

If I had a decent horse I would avoid Cheltenham altogether.

Think Nicholls has been doing that a bit last few years. Quite often says that a lot of his horses aren't ready for Cheltenham this year and then runs them at Aintree as probably thinks have a better chance of winning.

A few tears ago 20/1 shots did win the novice hurdles but now they wont run them for fear of being beat so its no wonder we are getting small fields,first time at track, fast pace, big field anything can happen but they will never find out.
