i do know that if i was one of those wavering on signing up with the BRBA contract which guaranteed everyone £21 per attendance and was convinced that the FRB would provide a better deal [ as they promised ] and then received the news that they would only receive £15 per attendance i would be more than a little enraged. i haven't seen the payment [ excuse ] letter |

Adge, just seen this. Little busy after Ascot, mostly topping up fivers and change!
The distribution just sent out is indeed the equivalent to £15 per tatts attendance. However, this is not the £20 distributions which are the levels going forward. I'm told FRB have no outstanding legal or consultancy bills and that they use Ranaleigh on an "as and when required basis" so no ongoing outgoings. The retention is expected to cover the running of FRB and includes the payment to Gamble Aware on behalf of members, a test purchasing programme throughout the year by Serve Legal for underage gambling and the FRB is likely to continue to offer the workshops to help bookmakers with their compliance with the Gambling Act. If only we could stop the associations picking fault with each other and working for the common good of bookmakers. |

yes , wasnot , you agree my very point. these payments were sent out on the tuesday of royal ascot when 80% + of bookmakers were overstretched to grasp the bad news of a near 30% shortfall on what was expected and more important promised.
i note your comment that payments going forward will be at a full expected distribution level although history seems to suggest very unlikely. |

Sorry adge that is rubbish. 30% shortfall on what was expected? I was delighted we got anything this year after the court case. No-one was expecting £20 per meeting for this period and it certainly wasn't promised. You are just stirring and it isn't helpful to the industry.

wasnot , i'm certain that you are aware of more information than i am but a number of bookmakers , including myself , have still not received their cheques or any letter explaining the delays in sending......and now we hear that one of the three directors has now suddenly resigned....any thoughts ???
