There is something highly suspect about their overall positive score. 13 'Excellent' and 2 'Great' views posted within the last 2 hours including 10 within 10 minutes of each other. Overall there are 10 times as many reviews for Betway as for Bet 365, who regardless of what you may think of them, are a far bigger outfit. Something certainly doesn't add up and a recent reviewer on Trustpilot has alluded to this. Maybe their PR department does a lot of overtime?

You are missing the point Denzil. If it is true that they are offering customers cash or even free bets to write positive reviews than it stinks. There have certainly been a lot of very positive reviews in a short space of time, which also flies in the face of most who have had experience with them on here.

Ratings Sites Say Scam Bookie
Betway report negative reviews and try to get them banned. They have over 10 times the number of reviews as the much bigger Bet365 and I will leave it up to you to decide how valid dozens of 5 star reviews from people with one post history are and bear in mind a number of review sites rank Betway as a scam Bookie (e.g. Cheeky Punter).

I had bet with Betway for roughly 8 months with stakes ranging from a few pounds to a few hundred. In November I had a best odds guaranteed and two 'lead at the last paid as a winner' that they refused to pay out on. They allowed me to continue to place bets and only when I emailed to say I had not been paid they banned me from promotions and applied it retrospectively. They stated not paying was a 'trading decision' yet have since stated I broke terms and conditions and implied I am a professional gambler with inside knowledge (I am a teacher).

This is not a case of limiting an account or banning from promotions, all bookies do that. This is a bookie who refused to pay winning bets and then lied about it. Only Betway have ever behaved like that to me. For me I agree with the ratings sites: Betway are a SCAM bookie

see how long it lasts

You just need to talk to Darren

wonderfully chat handled by Darren/complicate withdrawal and verification process
wonderfully chat handled by Darren, the most professional and polite agent I chatted with across betting websites. The only reason I have ratted three stars is that my issue isn't resolved yet, I have not received any confirmation on where the withdrawal went and now I have been requested to check with the bank to investigate, I have raised a dispute with the bank, withdrawals seems to be the biggest hassle with Betway, I would keep posting on the progress. Darren restores faith.

five star reviews all posted by people in house or free bets given to existing punters if they post a five star review, the lowest of the low.

I had an account and they made it nearly impossible to withdraw after they had basically cut my max stakes to zero, had to send in numerous images of documents over and over again, they only paid out after I threatened court action

Been there, done that with them myself. A shocking book who if a few bets shorten they are up there with Lads and Betbright and you are restricted to literally pennies after 5/6 bets.

i was wondering how many of their much advertised 'lead at the last' bonuses you would get before they sent out the email.  had it between 1 and 2 but it would appear if you get lucky with one of these they call you a professional gambler and tell you to go f*** yourself.  absolute shambles of a company.

2 'Great' ... the thought of anyone rating them 'Great', even an employee, is actually quite amusing

Steer clear of Betw**, and I can vouch for that!

I had a £20 antepost win on Seventh Heaven at 9/1. They withheld payment and demanded unreasonable and overly stringent id verification despite they being a UK company ie using the electoral roll or register as confirmation of id and status are sufficient, legal and lawful, but insisted on passport, bank statement, utility bill, etc, sent for verification.

However, threatened with legal action, negative media reviews and public forum embarrassment and persistent emails demanding money twice daily they relented and pay out £200 but with much reluctance. Then they had the cheek to email to say I could bet with them without restriction nor further id verification in the future prior to a withdrawal.

The close proximity of reviews looked dodgy, and it is better to go on the experiences of their users over  period of time - it is more accurate and succinct.

It is prudent not to bet with this outfit as they are more pain than having a bout of gastroenteritis, I can assure you!

Based on past experiences I sought full verification inc covering withdrawals (with clear e mail confirmation) prior to making any deposit, and they felt unable to go with this which told me all I needed to know. The first para of impossible 123 above post says plenty and is also correct. I think we are all well aware of the reason for these delaying tactics and it is a total piddle take which needs sorting.

Can only speak about my own experiences but 365 are by far the very best in comparison to everything else by miles. They look after me. Laddies much the worst short head in front of Paddies neck in front of those two are Corals. If it is that psychedelic experience and you want to get dizzy log in pages go up and down and up and down and redirecting you click on something and it's something else. Sign of the times I suppose. After what everybody says on here cannot be bothered with rest not into sending my passport to get paid out.

with the 6.2m fine this morning for Billy Hills, we all understand that there should be some hoops to jump through to get money out.

What I cannot abide is that they do not ask for any I.D. at all whilst you are depositing, it is only when you have the temerity to ask for a withdrawal, then they set barriers up.

They request certain documentation, you abide, they then request more, you abide, they then say the documents are not legible, you resend, then keep resending, then they need pictures of the photo I.D. documents next to your face, etc, etc

sparrow, this mob advertise heavily on racing channels, sponsor big races etc  you can understand that some people may assume because of this they are legit.  on this occasion that assumption would be incorrect.  same business model as them all, get as many in as you can.  then keep the mugs / casino / vegas / slots / bingo merchants and get rid of everyone else.  you then have a customer base that will simply never win.

Big Boss : your 8.43am bang on.Full verification inc to allow withdrawal with out fuss should be sorted and confirmed prior to the customer depositing.Once again it will only be if enough of us make a fuss about this that a change will be made.Six e mails to the GC would make no difference but sixty might. One aspect which I also find annoying is that Odds Checker and similar sites will be aware of these sad practices yet still allow the firms concerned to advertise. They may wash there hands of any legal obligation but a moral one is another matter.

Believe it or not, most of us are recreational punters (myself included) who'd put on a bet with good faith and expect to be paid in good faith post a win; also like to take on the present "traders" at betting entities at their own game to ascertain/gauge their knowledge of the sport, and their experience.

Sometimes it is the "new" firm/s that had early antepost eg St Leger and Yorkshire Oaks (in my case). And for a small £20 antepost bet at 9/1 was unreasonable to be subject to an id verification when the country of domicile of both parties is the UK. As such, the usage of the Electoral Roll/Register for id verification ought to be sufficient and is generally accepted wholly by the financial instis eg credit cards/banks/mobile suppliers/utility companies/criminal record bureau, etc, so why not the betting entities? Are they extra special, or just being a pain in the anal passage, and thick headed?

I've always believed if one cannot bet to win, one cannot bet to lose either. Either the bookies accept that or seek another revenue source asap.

A 1st class customer service reply yet to be bettered by any I'd witnessed.
