Marwan Koukash came to Britain in 1976, with a nest egg of £200 that the Liverpool-based Palestinian has since turned into millions: he owns a hotel, a rugby club, a few racehorses and much else besides. Now a new reality doc sees him offer a two-week work placement to four jobless “local Brits”.
tbh I doubt there will be much about racing or how many variants on the name Gabrial he can find, but I thought I'd mention it for forumites who like to see owners.

He once said in an interview that if he cannot sleep he rings his trainers up at 2am-4am in the morning and if they dont answer he wants an explanation!!
Cannot fault his work ethic but not a very nice person imo

"indigenous" british are all lazy(some are), foreign workers are all hard working(some are not)...
Of course it will be a hatchet job. Not a single one of them will be Muslim even though ONLY 1 in 5 Muslim adults are in work in the UK, I'm sure they will mention this on the show though? Like always, the racism card is brought out once again to explain this fact. But surely the Dr wouldn't be racist so that's even more reason at least one of these young workers should be Muslim, right?
The show will make out that young British adults are all lazy and stupid and that all immigrants who come here are hardworking and articulate.
Channel 4 is a filthy Anti-British TV channel so you should know what to expect.

FFS - you don't have to be a medical doctor to legitimately call yourself Dr. He got his doctorate here too, before you ask. Interesting how some of you have made up your minds about this programme without even seeing it.

koukash says migrant workers worker harder than uk workers imagine a white person saying the opposite about black workers ,clearly racist ask the west ham coach

i agree with the generalisation becoming a racism issue-if you were to say it about any other gender or race you would be liable for prosecution or a tribunal

It might well be true that "active" migrants are harder working. After all, they have *literally* shown more than a little get-up-and-go to move to a new country. But this would not apply to "passive" migrants who are just brought here by the "active" ones, or to refugees.
So my considered opinion is that it could be true or false. It is certainly capable of being seen as racist if taken out of context and reduced to a twitter storm.

unlikely your sentence would cause debate or offence as it made little sense
Suppose there are two types of immigrant:
a) one lot who have got off their backsides, sold up and moved to another country to better themselves, as opposed to
b) the others who have just been brought along for the ride (dependants, parents etc) or forced out as refugees
then it would not be very surprising if the first sort worked harder than the second lot.

It's a tv reality show- I.e entertainment for the dumbed down masses. The more ' controversial ' the better the size of audience. Cost peanuts to produce , gives the Dr. good PR. It's a ' win win ' for all !!!

Seriously, why are you addressing me? I have only posted once on this thread and your post seems to bear little relevance to my post. Unless you are defending criticising programmes before you have seen them. Actually having seen it, I have some sympathy for your view but that is hardly the point.

What's the story with him, just seen a horse running at uttoxeter called wawa, and it reminded me of him,and all his Gabriel prefix horses,Gabriels wawa being one, is he still involved in racing,I haven't noticed any of his horses recently, iirc he loved Chester.

Marwan like Terry Ramsden before him added colour to the racing scene and I hope he makes a comeback.
If along his way he helped 4 jobless lads catch a break then all power to him.

He is little more than an odious conman. I started a thread on here a few years ago about how he didn't pay a small business owner I knew - a girl - and they were threatened with violence and advised not to pursue him for the money he owed.. It turned out they weren't the only one this happened to
A very unpleasant individual and the fact he's gone skint - well it couldn't happen to a more deserving character. The poor girl was left with a huge business debt that nearly sunk her and she was 'advised' he could make people disappear and to let it go.. .

In 2009 I was going to York to see Sea the Stars and I asked a pal to get me a couple of free club tickets. He left it till two hours before the meeting and rang to say Dandy Nicholas had a pair for Dr Koukash who couldn't go. After the meeting we went back to our hotel and sitting in the garden having a drink got chatting to a couple from Liverpool. He saw the badge on my jacket and asked if I knew Dr K. I explained how I got it and asked what he did for a living. He was a bailiff for the Inland Revenue. He said he was round at Marwens place virtually every month. "left paying till the last minute every time." he said. "Mind you, he was always very pleasant and got me a cup of tea before finally coughing up." Funny how things happen, ain't it.

Well done Cardinal, Sadly it is 100% true as I know her personally, rather than it being a random 3rd hand story which could be incorrect.
She is a nice girl as well, I felt very sorry for her , especially as she had the balls to go and set herself up in business.

Dont think he has had a UK winner in his own name since 2022. His first winner, only one, was in 2007. He peaked in 2012 at 101 then numbers fell over the years, apart from a slight positive blip in 2018 (31 from 24 the previous year). He had nine winners in 2022 but nothing since. He did have some horses in partnership but couldn't be bothered to check as presumably the "own name" stats tell the story.
