When I become a jockey coach, I'm going to get the tape out of Martin Harley riding Technological at Lingfield to demonstrate how NOT ride a home bend - that is pushing your mount up 3 wide into a quickening pace while trying to navigate a bend. The energy and ground loss in such situations will cost you races imo.
