Southwell

With all British racing logic works only on non-handicaps. Unfortunately,60% of British races are Handicaps.

Then of course there are the Maiden races in which half the runners are there to try and fool the handicapper into giving them a lower mark than

they should.

The Official Handicappers are doing what they do to justify the system. Their job is an impossible one. Handicaps given are utter nonsense.

The only races on which logic works are Group ones, where you know they are all running on their merits except,of course, pacemakers (I will

resist naming the trainer most prolific in using them but he does win a lot of our Group ones).

Trying to figure out how races will be run will drive you insane. A horse will run ten races held up and not get a sniff of the winner.Then it

be taken to the front and win in a canter. Next race it will be strangled back to last and never get involved.

In Hong Kong or Australia Trainers and jockeys would be raked over the coals. Here  no questions are asked.

No,Spock,logic does not work at Southwell or any other British Racecourse.

I've given up here and now play only International racing .

Look at U.S. form for example Spock and you're Romulan logic will be much better served!

Villainry works in Southwell and it flourishes there. The Krays in their pomp would be out of their depth if they were operating in Southwell. Any person having a bet there ( that’s not in the inner circle of villains ) should go and seek medical attention . The ordinary guy is a million zillion to win , as each and every race is in some shape or form , someway distorted. If you don’t know the weak links in these races, then you are at nothing .
I often laugh when you see these cretins mentioning speed figures and personal ratings for these AW kips , you may as well have a copy of Roy Of The Rovers in your hand.
AW racing is rotten in general but Southwell is the real daddy when it comes to skullduggery.

Nobody said it’s just the AW, but it’s there where it’s absolutely rife. The  bulk of the jockeys , trainers and owners would all be of questionable character .
You keep betting on it and you will not win.

We can't all win or there will be nothing left for you. There has always been skullduggery long before the AW ever existed and to pretend it's much different now is ridiculous. You just have to avoid certain trainers and jockeys you don't trust.

You assume too much jimeen when you talk about other peoples punting. I on the other hand assume nothing about your punting as I know no more about that than you do about mine.

All I am saying and I am saying it with absolute certainty , is that , if you aren’t in the inner circle in Southwell , you cannot possibly win.

I would prefer things as they are thefear. Tapeta is ok at Wolves but I detest Newcastle and would worry that we would get the same false pace races at Southwell that we do at Newcastle.

Maybe Appleby is right in advocating a dirt track.

appleby trains there does he? He will be massively favoured by any different kind of surface from the norm. The variety is nice and good point about the proliferation of slow run races elsewhere.

Newcastle does not compare with the other AW tracks.

Wolves was a better track when fibresand,there should be at least another one newcastles a complete waste of time they crawl in the races because nothing wants to try and make all because of the stiff finish,so the forms completely meaningless.Terrible decision to have it as an aw track catterick would've been far more sensible and for betting..

Agree with Catterick, thegiggilo. It is virtually impossible to make all the running at Newcastle.

chelmsford is the surface sorted there yet?
kempton I like but I preferred the turf course
newcastle was a fantastic turf course which is gone for good

It doesn’t matter what the surface is when every race is as bennt as a two bob note . If it’s impossible to make the running at Newcastle, well then that’s what the non triers will be .
