Poor thing, that's 10 this month.

Patrich Mullins said there was a shadow at that hurdle yesterday that caused the mayhem so maybe that problem is still there today
Report Crawford December 28, 2017 2:03 PM GMT
Townend didn't come down at the first hurdle in the straight/last hurdle shock horror!

Really hope the Wylies get some good news in the next, but obviously consolation at all.
Report Willie Shafter. December 28, 2017 2:21 PM GMT
isnt it always the jockeys fault when a horse falls?
Report irishone December 28, 2017 2:22 PM GMT
It was yhe shadow yesterday.... stewards knew.... should have missed the fence out
Report howard December 28, 2017 2:35 PM GMT
I think Mayo and Irishone are on to something. I was only asking a question btw and before any injury was confirmed.

As with most pikeys..

I agree with Howard, he didn't know the fate of the horse when he posted, he just felt the jockey was to blame. no malice on his part. cheers.

Shows the real danger of these sun-effected jumps for sure, sadly Sad

Difficult issue however, as there would be barely any jumps taken if the sun is out and we stopped all possible accidents.
What is potentially poor however is if the specific problem was reported (the shadow problem) and the stewards did nothing about it.
Report Willie Shafter. December 28, 2017 5:53 PM GMT
people talk some garbage..the sun was to the horses right and the shadows virtually sideways...the other 6 jumped it perfect..canyon simply took off to early and landed on the hurdle.

tis life.

More 'shadow' rubbish from Mullins. It seems this is trotted out every time a high profile meeting sees fallers from the stable. What about all the other meetings they have fallers? The vast majority of the falls over the last few seasons are from the horses taking off too early so perhaps they should rectify this on the gallops before blaming the sun which never seems to bother horses from other stables.

Were you there today MJK  ?

No mate daughter's birthday so had other stuff on. Watched recordings later. Only backed Supasundae, thought he had it won. Wonder would it have made a difference if he'd bagged the rail in the straight?
Report workrider December 28, 2017 7:34 PM GMT
Sure would have, Robbie slipped up there, might see you tomorrow, have to say the police have done a fantastic job getting people in and out of Leopardstown the last two days. Might see you there tomorrow,oh btw Santa brought my season ticket..
