can anybody explain the 5.74 deduction in the 3.35 Dundalk yesterday withdrawn horse 20/1 in the shops so no rule 4 but 5.74 on betfair

But you're not betting in the shops but against other players on here.
As a layer I don't understand the reduction factor either but I think overall it is fair enough. Often it is about right,sometimes in favour of the layer and sometimes in favour of the backer. Backers only mention the ones that disadvantage them.

thanks salmon I know it works different to the shops and I was neither a backer or layer in the race was just curious as to the size of the reduction for a horse that I'm guessing was trading at 26 plus at the time of withdrawal it just seems to big a reduction
