Race 2 - 1:10pm THE BETWAY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) An enquiry was held to consider interference on the final bend when the winner, LAKE SHORE DRIVE (IRE), ridden by Stevie Donohoe, interfered with DING DING, placed second, ridden by Charles Bishop, which in turn interfered with COLOR FORCE (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Josephine Gordon, which in turn interfered with CHESTNUT STORM (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris. The riders were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident. Donohoe was suspended for 7 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left towards the rail without sufficient correction, taking DING DING off its intended line which left COLOR FORCE (IRE) short of room against the rail, causing the gelding to clip heels and nearly unseat Gordon.
