Good evening, I have been subscribed to Proform Racing for over a year now to put it quite simply - I would NEVER bet without it. Worth adding I am in no way affiliated to Proform; had a couple of discounts which I have used over the past year but would generally agree that (for the "average" punter) it is expensive. The recently introduced BetLayTrade finder is a God send for narrowing down selections. I have even found the Betfinder, coupled with the pace and draw predictors/bias, means I rarely even use the software that comes with it anymore. Not heard of Dataform, so cannot comment on it personally, but I would rate Proform a MUST have for those who want to take the game seriously!

One other thing worth noting, Proform works seamlessly on any mobile device (mobile phone, tablet, pc, laptop). Would be interested to know if the same can be said for Dataform?

Thanks Kemoh, Dataform seems a similar product, just trying to find out if Proform worth the extra outlay !,what do mean by you don`t use the software ?

Okay, have just had a quick browse around the Dataform website, looks fairly decent although, like mentioned above, I cannot compare the two as I've never subscribed to Dataform. 'Subsequent Membership' comes in at £36.00 every 4 weeks for Dataform so £72 for 8 weeks; the same length of subscription would cost £195 for Proform... getting on for nearly treble the price. From what I can see (and some may disagree with this) but Proform would appear to have a much more 'sleeker' design and looks a lot more user-friendly to use and navigate around.

To clarify, when I say I don't use the software on Proform, I mean I do not download and install the software on my computer that comes hand in hand with the subscription. Most people would say I am mad not to do so, why pay £195 a month for a product when you don't actually use the main asset, so to speak. My answer to this is, I find the website is, in itself, so rich in features that it does everything I want to do that I find I have no real need to install the software. I narrow my selections down each day using the BetLayTrade finder and then use the 'Race Guides' to analysis the pace angle and draw bias along with the (last time out) speed ratings.

I use proform as well & I recommend it if you are serious as a racing punter

if you punt fivers and tenners mainly then I wouldn't bother as you'll need 10-20 pts a month profit to break even so you are v unlikely to be LT profitable if you factor in the cost of the subscription

kemoh, the betfair SP data in the database is only available with a subscriptions and that is the bit I need

fair play if you use the free bits on the website & earn from it

Kemoh so what else does the software provide that you don`t use ?

wondersobright, I do subscribe to proform... £195 I pay every 8 weeks. I have to subscribe to the platinum package to access the BLT finder as well as to view every raceguide (there is only one that is free to view each day). The only other way to access the BLT finder is to pay £10 per day... works out cheaper to subscribe to the platinum package!

I used to download and install the software until the BLT finder was first introduced. A simple search for "Proform Racing" on YouTube pulls up several videos thesportinglife, could be worth a watch for a better insight into what they offer. Personally though, I think the £195 is a fair price for what is being offered.

I would endorse what wondersobright and KeMoh have said. I started subscribing to Proform race cards beginning of 2015 and they have transformed my betting and I'm not sure I would know where to start a days form study now if I didn't have their race cards in front of me to begin with.

Trouble is, the success has led to accounts being closed/restricted and almost the last nail in the coffin was hit today when 365 emailed me to say that they had restricted me. Normally I have had no trouble getting anything between £200-£500 on with them but tried to put £200 on Waiting For Ritchie & was offered £5.45. Can't complain as I have a fantastic run with them but I now need to look back @ my records decide which way to go next. I still have a couple of accounts I can use, but I don't think they will last much longer, plus one has had BOG taken away & the other has a maximum take out of £500. I was using Black Type but I see they have taken their £500 pledge away, & don't fancy leaving any money in account with them. That leaves the exchange, but I don't mind admitting, I have done my money big time experimenting on here this year and I'm not sure I could/can make it pay by purely relying on it Sad

They admit as much here:

McCoy that happened to me a few years ago, and iv`e been trying to find an edge ever since, i was getting 33/1.20/1 etc about 10/1 shots backing the night before when i had numerous accounts with the bookies but as you know that option is now over,so now like you this site is my only option and therefore i`m looking to find that extra edge again !

McCoy, I can sympathise with you when you speak of Proform leading to accounts being closed. I've been honing my betting technique with Proform over the past 18 months. After about 1 month of subscribing to Proform in early Aug 2016 I had an £80 e/w double on two horses at 11/1 and 9/1, both of which won. The bet was placed with various bookmakers as none of them would lay the bet in its entirety. Needless to say those account are now either restricted or closed completely. Since then I have had several 'decent' wins either as singles or e/w doubles, more recently taking my local Ladcrooks for several grand; now all my bets have to be authorised by head office in shop with them before being accepted. I find I lack discipline with the exchange for some reason, and try to get on what I still can with bookmakers. What I have noticed is that 80% of my selections chosen through my strategy on Proform get smashed in over night or the next morning. Just the other day I backed AWAKE MY SOUL (365 opened up at 8/1 the night before). horse romped in 2/1 fav! This is now a common occurence, but I struggle to get anything on now so am in a find of a predicament.
