I'm hoping Lady Aurelia and Highland Reel can do the business, that's the extent of my interest.

Used to love it but the year i watched George Washington standing on 3 legs in the muck turned me off a bit.

Dirt races in the wet are dreadful spectacles.

Georgie was so sad I would have given my wodge won on guineas back if it could have helped save him.

when it was 1 day I enjoyed it more, "breeders cup night" has a better feel to it than "breeders cup weekend" imo
also the races were less diluted

also I find its a bit of a turn off going to the same venue(s) all the time

a rotation system like the open golf would be better imo but the politics & money involved has a big say

monmouth was a disaster with the weather but that was not their fault

The weather is a major consideration I suspect. It has been held in Florida at Gulfstream in the past but not for a while. Not sure why.

6 - will watch it.

but not a fan of american racing, the tracks, the lasix , the surface(s)
and the tiresome "world championships" p ish that the yanks have given
to the event - nothing could be further from the truth.

There was a problem with the California courses all having to have tapeta/polytrack for a while. Keeneland had to go back to dirt to get it. I thought there were problems at Monmouth other than the weather ?

not sure SS re monmouth you could be right, I just remember the diabolical weather & ground conditions

keeneland was incentivised/rewarded with the breeders cup for switching back to dirt

Used to be a 10 for me in the years of Arazi. Preferred it to Cheltenham.

It's the best racing all year ........on a Saturday evening .
I like the Classic , but most of their  tracks seem to have short straights , much rather have York ,Doncaster  ,Newbury .

Wouldn't want a diet of US racing all year round but the Breeders Cup is superb and unmissaable for me. It has the spice of top international competition , the general razzamattazz that they do so well , some really fast talkin' dudes doing the presenting and a sprinkling of highly attractive females in the mix as well .
10.

When: 31 Oct 17 22:02
I enjoy it, the only time that I watch US racing mostly because of the European horses involved.
A 6 for me, it would have been 8 if it was drugs free racing.

Puts our so called 'Champion's Day' to shame.
By:
the bloob
When: 31 Oct 17 23:19
I hate the tracks over there, small with short run-ins. I much prefer tracks where there is a long run-in and you don't see horses trying to make up ground round the bend. It's all about the break and position in American racing, you can blow your chance at the start just by being slowly away
By:
roggrain
When: 31 Oct 17 23:25
Whereas here ,the bloob, they crawl through most of the trip ( many runners tossing their heads because they are being excessively

restrained), and then a race breaks out in the last 2 to 2 1/2 furlongs.

Pebbles, Skywalker, Lady's Secret, Ferdinand, Miesque, Theatrical, Alysheba, Personal Ensign, Sunday Silence, Arazi, AP Indy, Lure, Barathea,

Cigar, Daylami, Tiznow, Johannesburg, Fantastic Light, Found, American Pharoah, Songbird, Arrogate, Beholder, Uncle Mo, Midday, Zenyatta, Goldikova,

Raven's Pass, Oiuja Board.  etc.,etc.

Can anyone name a 1/2 day meeting anywhere in the world that can match that list over the last 32 years?

It would appear Churchill is going to run in The Classic ( on dirt ). Brave decision as he's by Galileo of course.

O'Brien said he is a similar type to Giant's Causeway, which was a close second to Tiznow in his classic.

It would be a 10 but not knowing the american form so can't really bet on the card, the placepot is the biggest joke a meeting like that and its a minute pool I had 11% of the pool one night what a joke that was.The placepot should be huge, not even promoted or anything totally useless in saying that the dividends pay absolute peanuts yuou very rarely see a decent result..
