If you've got Internet Explorer v11 it should be fine (to find out which version you do have, click on Help | About Internet Explorer).

Most other browsers (Chrome, FireFox etc) should be ok, it's Internet Explorer versions below than 11 that I'm interested in.

Looks like they've moved to TLS 1.2 from the look of things...

Chrome didn't work for me this morning.
Try: Settings > Show Advanced Settings > Change proxy settings
A popup window appears; select Advanced tab. Scroll window in popup and find

Use SSL 2.0
Use SSL 3.0
Use TLS 1.0
Use TLS 1.1
Use TLS 1.2

I have all 5 checked on my machine and RP site loaded no problem.

I had a bigger issue with VB.Net 2010 because I use a WebClient to access webpages and 2010 doesn't allow projects to use .Net Framework 4.5. I upgraded to VS 2012 and setting

ServicePointManager.SecurityProtocol = SecurityProtocolType.Tls12

did the job.

IE 8, 9 and 10 are out of support and haven't received a security update since Jan 2016.

Because they're out of support no web developer will test against them.

Why are people still using them?

thanks everyone -

If you're running XP or Vista... you won't be able to access RP as they've changed to something called tls 1.2 (network security) which XP and Vista can't support.  If you're running Windows 7 or higher, you'll be fine.  Win7 can support tls 1.2 but it's not automatically enabled, so to enable it, do as Sgt Sunshine says and from Internet Explorer click on Tools | Internet Options | Advanced then scroll to the bottom and looked for check boxes TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2.  Tick the TLS 1.2 box and click OK, close down IE, open up again and racingpost should load.

Sgt Sunshine

yep, TLS1.2 it is then... you'd think they have had the decency to let their users know though, dreadful customer service.  It's not as though the last upgrade didn't pi$$ people off enough.
I pull data (aka helpfully back up their db :-) with queries/DOM and dread site "improvements"

Yep, you're right, but when something like 14% of people are still running XP (not forgetting Vista)... you have to question the wisdom of a company making changes that effectively prevent 14% of their customer base from accessing their site.

But running XP is as bad - if you're not a corporate paying £200 per desk per year (and more next year and even more the year after) you have no security patches for your OS either - frankly I wouldn't want those computers connecting to my site, they're pretty much guaranteed t be compromised.

I'm a chrome user - I thought you were after some old IE users to test the page for you Whoops

@Pinot Noir - how do you sleep at night running an internet-connected Windows XP machine and using it for transactions involving money?
