Currently trading at 4.5...

Personally I think Melon will improve past him anyway...

My advice is wait to see if he jumps off and then back him at 4.3 if he does.

How do you plan on getting that price, went 50s to single figures last time!

Report pablo-fanque April 25, 2017 4:08 PM BST
I reckon he will be about 30% below it's BSP if it jumps ok
Report Ibrahima Sonko April 25, 2017 4:10 PM BST
4.3 will be gone in milliseconds. I think he is the best horse in the race but with the mullins/ruby factor i reckon he will go 2.5 at the start.
Report dan hardcore April 25, 2017 4:12 PM BST
Ok, 3.95.
Report Trident April 25, 2017 4:12 PM BST
Definitely wait, I feel sorry for the bookmaker punters though
Report Angela Rebecchi April 25, 2017 4:12 PM BST
What makes you think Melon will improve past? Labaik looked like a beast to me. Reckon it'll be around 2.5 to 3.0 if it jumps off properly.
Report Trident April 25, 2017 4:13 PM BST
I think Melon will prefer this track, short though
Report timeless April 25, 2017 4:14 PM BST
he will be dropped in last probably and as such, will still be around the 4 mark after jumping the first!
Report Angela Rebecchi April 25, 2017 4:14 PM BST
Melon looked a monster as well at Chelters.
Report pa lapsy April 25, 2017 4:16 PM BST
i thought it would be 7/4ish if away level.

Sorry all who fancy it, I'm backing it pre race, so that confirms it plays up.

He travelled very well at Cheltenham and looked like the winner for most of the race. With that experience behind him and on this track, I think he will show the benefit. Just my opinion...

they will be not far off joint favs imo if he jumps off

Report wondersobright April 25, 2017 4:21 PM BST
that horse will have to be campaigned exclusively in england I'm afraid
Report Angela Rebecchi April 25, 2017 4:21 PM BST
Clearly tried to balls up Labaik up there and it worked.

having watched the race you'd say labaik will beat that lot every time that he starts on terms
Report duncan idaho April 25, 2017 4:29 PM BST
85/40
Report Vince_Bluett April 25, 2017 4:32 PM BST
The last time he refused to race, they managed to get him going off-camera and he completed the course and the same thing has happened just now.

How do they get him to eventually jump off?
Report trigger3 April 25, 2017 4:33 PM BST
Glad Ruby got chinned. Nobody on commentary mentioned the elephant in the room of Ruby turning his horse to delay the start thus messing with Labaik.

As for Kennedy what was he doing making him jump off 2 furlongs behind. Very sour note to start the festival.

won't count as a refusal doing that

Report 1st time poster April 25, 2017 4:42 PM BST
how do they get him started.
wait till he finishes his cigar,Wink
Report duffy April 25, 2017 4:44 PM BST
Are they allowed to stick a hood on him like on the flat and then pull it off last second, got to try something because this is becoming farcical.
Report trigger3 April 25, 2017 4:55 PM BST
Ruby broke no rules but it was gamesmanship at it's best imo.
Report Ibrahima Sonko April 25, 2017 4:55 PM BST
Maybe they should enter a companion that he would run with at home
Report pablo-fanque April 25, 2017 4:55 PM BST
just seen the replay , ruby looks around to see if labaik started , cheeky .

is that well played , or poor sportsman ship ?
Report trigger3 April 25, 2017 5:05 PM BST
The biggest disgrace is the fact that the so called racing 'experts' on tv are afraid to call him out over the incident. All up each others backside. Not even mentioned.
Report duffy April 25, 2017 5:05 PM BST
well played, how long is this going to go on for, we'll get to a situation where there will be less and less money for the horse through fear of today's events but the books will still be pricing him up at the top of the market.Grin

Experts are saying Walsh had to turn as was 20 secs before the off time.

Labaik should not be allowed to start 15 seconds after the rest.  To all intents it is a refusal and needs to be treated as such under the rules.

Glad to see Betfair refunded Labaik 5/4 offer to void if the dratsab refused.

Just checked the off time which was exactly 30 seconds after 4.20pm so I'm not buying the fact that there was a 30 second gap let alone a 50 second gap between the original turn and the actual off time. Maybe someone can clarify this but it sounds like someone trying to justify Ruby's deliberate turn.
