If this was a football stadium rather than a forum, the roof would be echoing to the chant 'You don't know what you're doing'!

I'm another long term reader/subscriber that will decline to pay for this travesty. I try hard to avoid conspiracy theories, but if the objective is to boost sports betting at the expense of horseracing, it would at least explain this shambles.

If they just got rid of that

Big Blue Text,

it would help. The ignorant design forces you to continually open new windows, and every time you do so, your eye is immediately drawn to more

Big Blue Text.

The problem is that the

Big Blue Text

is not what you're looking for in the new window. The reason you've had to go to this new window is because you're seeking data, numbers, ratings, distances. But all of that is hidden away in tiny grey text. Instead you find yourself reading exactly the stuff you don't need, i.e. the names of all these irrelevant horses in

Big Blue Text.

The sad trend of the last few years of ignoring Desktop/Windows and gearing everything for tablet/mobile doesn't seem to be abating.

Because on Betfair we are all dynamic, urban, metrosexual hipsters with places to go,
rather than sitting on a battered desk chair in jogging bottoms, with a brew in a cracked mug.

I feel like I can't get a handle on the races I'm looking at and it feels like I've not made all the correct assessments even if I'm trebling the time to study each race than I did before. This is no exaggeration when I say that I'm going to have to retire from betting on horse racing after 20+ years of punting. The Racing Post newspaper is OK but it doesn't have all that I need for the way I conduct my form study. The RP website in its previous format was vital for me in how I study a race. I can't relearn the way I study and its completely unfair that I should have to either with myself being a loyal buyer of the newspaper and website memberships over so many years. This is truly end of an era for me.

I've been making my own form pages in Excel for quite some time now, using the profile page from the Post as a base so I feel your pain slightly. I'll have to find a way around it and use another 'base' (the new RP profile page just doesn't work), but I'm not yet sure how I'll go about updating my existing form pages (based on the old RP base) with data from a new source. It's a pain but I'll manage. As should you. It's dangerous to be over-reliant on any one source.

I reduced the screen size to 75% and the pro card looks a bit better....at least half the screen isn't taken up by 1 horse and his form but I might go blind squinting at it now.

They really need to sort the font size and spacing out.

For me...all I want them to do is unblock the form and spotlight features from the at a glance card....can't be that hard to do and at least we get back some of the old features.

Also why is there a separate tab for Odds when its plastered everywhere?

....

cant believe the SP and RP have both decided to ruin their sites at pretty much the same time.

The video replay axing was annoying especially as we paid per video and I won't have minded a price increase bearing in mind just essential video form is...

What really got me was their email which basically told me to pss off with a link to a bookmaker website where I can view the races.

Jokers...have a look at the Hong Kong jockey club form...video replays are free and they even include over head shots of the horses at fixed positions in the race.

If you watched enough racing you can work out hat happened by just seeing the photos.

my cpu temp on my pc goes from 40 degrees to over 50 degrees after loading up Racingpost.com website.

this shows the absolute shambles that it really is, you have umpteen flash adverts for bookmakers, I count around 5 flash adverts on one page for Bet £3.65 alone.

you have to click numerous tabs to open up different portions of the website that were all shown on one page on the previous old site, all this while a whirly symbol spins around for what seems like an eternity.

I wouldn't use this if it was free, the people that pay for this sh!te need locking up.

It's almost conspiratorial isn't it ELG.

I'm cynical by nature - especially when it comes to horse racing as though it provides me with my sole income I think it's the most corrupt/insider favoured sport on the planet.

The R/P is effectively funded by bookmakers - the bookmakers have had an absolute jackpot of a result with this new website...everything takes twice as long to look at....it's a killer for 95% of punters as 95% of punters use it rather than Timeform/Raceform/Proform.

The only group it suits is the fiver punter mobile/tablet users...who of their fiver the bookmakers will win £4.99 long run regardless of what they are looking at as opposed to anyone with any ability to make a few quid out of the game.

We'll all find a way to work with it but for sure they have made it as hard and as time consuming as possible to cover lots of races in depth.....and who does that favour....Plain

Report screaming from beneaththewaves March 28, 2017 7:17 PM BST
If you click on Card, Hammer Gun has a tiny little 6ex next to its weight. But click on At A Glance and Hammer Gun no longer has a 6ex, and unless you carefully read the race conditions, you could assume that it was running off its unpenalized mark.

But if you do click on Card, you can only see two or three horses' names on your screen, because of the need to find space for WILLIAM HILL's odds in GIGANTIC BLUE FONT.

Needless to say, Hammer Gun's name is not one of them, and even if it were, the only person I know in the world who hasn't been closed down by William Hill is ... you guessed it, a racing journalist.
Report Dr Crippen March 28, 2017 7:34 PM BST
Yes screaming, and if you load all the races on the card and click ''At A Glance'' the 6x is missing from there as well.

I like that 1 or 2 next to the left of the trainer's name that signifies if it's the first or second run for the trainer.
Well I think that's what it's for.
Report onlooker March 28, 2017 7:44 PM BST
Correct - screaming from beneaththewaves  -

The missing '6ex' - on the 'At-A-Glance' cards is a glaring omission from a product that is meant to be Racing's Trade Paper.

RacingPost designers appear to have the,  [b[mistaken, attitude that 'At-A-Glance  cards are merely for punters who just want to 'pick a name' ... when, in fact, entirely the OPPOSITE, is true.

ALL the serious Form Students, and Trainers/Connections, that I know use the 'At-A-Glance' format/display - because  we/they want to see the WHOLE FIELD clustered together - and not spread all over the place, as on the overly large Colour Cards, with which annoying and ridiculously required SCROLLING is trhe necessity of the day.

Definitely not primarily designed by serious Form students; nor for the game's professional participants benefit.
