My partner decided in September 2017 to start betting my selections. She knows nowt about horses but understands risk/reward. She opened 5 online accts - Billies, Partick P0wer, Betdays in theyear, sportsbook and VCandlemakers. She bet to level  stakes of £5 to start with. Initial deposit was £50 with Sportsbook. She also uses the exchange where big price differential. When she got to £500 she raised her level stake to £10. Her £50 is now worth £960. 2 of her accounts are now restricted to between £2 and £3. She had BOG taken off her on 2 accounts as well. She can still get a tenner on with 3 of the bookies.

To a certain extent, it depends on the liability you are creating for them. In any event, you won't last too long if you take em for a few quid. The bald one restricted me after 2 bets (1 loser at 7s for £300 and 1 winner at 2/1 for £400) to £2! That was some time ago, mind.

Either the racing authorities or goverment should have a enquiry  into the bookmakers,do away with incentives to join,but enforce them to lay to lose max of £1000 on a single bet,that should sort out the wheat from the chaff

Beat SP and you are a goner within a couple of weeks for stakes as little as £25 with most of them, and that is if you can even get £25 on in the first place. New PP account you will be lucky to back anything to win a ton before 9am. Boils will close you in a max of 7 bets if you beat SP for stakes of around £50 (had one go after 3 bets). Lads/Corals will restrict to a tenner takeout after around 15 bets if you back a few that move. 365/VC/WH seem to let you have more of a go imo at £50 - £100 stakes but most is down to liability. Also depends on when you bet, pre 830 is generally poor with all of them, then liabilities generally go up a bit higher.

For me the worst in this order is Boils (wins by a country mile), PP now terrible with a new account, Betway, Betright, Fred/tote, Slybet, BF, Cor/lads are all woeful and best for me in my experience is 364/WH/VC.

Probably my last year of punting horses and next month will be the end I expect, due to not being able to get a bet on in the morning. Probably time to give the whole game up and walk away as just not worth the grief as nobody wants to take any punters on with horse racing. The punting game with the books is dead, and I personally see no longterm future in Racing as restrictions are driving many punters away from the game (and most of them would be longterm losers and good for the sport). Luckily we have our Racing Journos, the HBF and the RP fighting the punters corner....

having problems withdrawing a balance of less than £200 from an on line bookmaker. Anybody else having similar problems. This firm does not have a high street presence

if you wait till after twelve midday and dont always use them only if they are best price, you will last a good bit longer but kinda defeats the purpose.

I don't expect them to lay fortunes to one punter etc, but some of them just may as well stop taking new punters. I have never seen it so bad with restrictions after 5 bets commonplace with quite a few of them. Someone a few weeks ago had a few bets in lads in the morning and had a winner 100 on at 5/1 that won at 3/1, next day he went to collect and he was SP only. The "he keeps beating SP" is a bit of a red herring imo put out by the books to justify a lot of restrictions/bans. Anyone could stick a pin in the paper at 830 in the morning and beat SP more times than not, due to the difference in the overround against SP. Books shouldn't bother pricing them up if they don't want to take a bet at an advertised price? Surely if anyone goes top price it is because they want to attract money for that selection, yet when someone takes it they get marked for being some sort of shrewdie!!

They want as many open accounts on their books as they can gives an inflated value to the company. They dont close accounts anymore in my expereince just restict you to as little as possible that its not worth bothering with.

I have a friend "cough, cough" who opened a new set a couple of months ago and he "cough, cough" checked his emails the other day. 152 emails from all of them combined and how many promotions was for Horse Racing? No need to guess the answer, as it is pretty simple, every one of them about casino and slots.

shrewdie or an arber MD which is kind of laughable in the present climate. there bread and butter now slots . no value after twelve or very little and the markets generally settled, so there trading principles change after midday

talking to a guy well up in corals a couple of weeks ago he said two things make our week

Dealer - the arber line may have been believed 10/15 years ago when there was liquidity on here. Nowadays with all the software in place it is impossible to make any money from arbing as you just cannot get on in the first place. Trading, maybe, if you can get all the ricks early but then you won't last long anyway.

Ronnie - not surprised, your mob put my online account to zero stakes after I lost 975 quid in a couple of weeks. I am certain it was because I tried to place a bet on the app and it "went to trader", came back with nothing or any reply etc of "you can have this amount", tried again and same again. Tried one last time and then gave up, looked on account and the first bet was taken although I had no receipt initially on my screen. Tried to bet something 20 mins later and came up "you have exceeded your maximum of £0". I swear it was because they thought I was trying it on.

The Corals website has to be the worst I have ever come across as well (and that is saying something), it logs you out when it wants, it won't keep a username even when you tick the box to keep it, log back in and half the time it reverts back to decimals, sometimes even though I haven't even tried to place a bet the betslip will be "loading" and a circle will be spinning non stop. I would say when I first logon about 90% of the time it will not add the selection to the betslip when you click on the price, it is as if there is not even a button there that is clickable. Whoever had anything to do with designing and programming that site should have been given the boot sharpish, must be costing the company plenty. If I could get on with anyone at the same price as Corals I would just go elsewhere as it is just so much easier to place a bet!

In Australia NSW it has been the law for a couple of years now that bookmakers have to take a bet with a $1,000 win amount on racing.
This is pretty fair, although not a massive amount still gives punters the opportunity to make some decent profit.
How long before the rest of the world wakes up???

Got no chance of that happening over here, we haven't even got a journo who will say anything bad against the books so cannot see anyone fighting any punters corner. The RP are basically ran by the books so will do nothing either, and the HBF who took the baton regarding this hasn't made any progress from what I have read.

Yes, a while back with Be***y after winning on an antepost at York placed post the Epsom Meeting, and guessing correctly the next target for Idaho. Firstly, I was subject to an id verification treatment; later, sp only; now, traders approval/reduced stake.
