Cheltenham Going

Well - Looking at Rainfall radar - that would be correct for th 5:00 hours from 5 am until 10:00 am (when it stopped) as shown.

Not downpour proportions, though.

Cheltenham this year is gone gone gone absolute rubbish this year giving it a miss and don't really care.

Looks like Good, g/s in places for first day and getting faster unless they water.

I don't care what the going is, the wheelbarrow is full and ready to join in the action !

It is extraordinary though when virtually every other track has been heavy for weeks.

Personally I don't agree with doctoring the ground, let nature do its thing - if you have a soft ground horse chances are you'll never run at the festival if good enough, and if your buying one in the quest for a festival runner and winner you'd be a fool to buy a soft ground lover - its all bollocks when they say its for the horses safety, if that were the case there wouldn't be any fences, it would be flat racing.

Can't agree at all with that. Chasers WILL break down in droves if you ask them to gallop at top class pace on fast ground. The last time Cheltenham raced on good/firm there were several fatalities and some even broke legs on the flat.
