Sporting life upgrade?

When searching yesterdays dog results for example, it tells you the results but doesn't tell you who was fav, you have to work it out for yourself!

TIMEFORM connection from BF provides a far better layout for racecards IMO....so will change to checking T from SL site from today.

Suspect many will do likewise.

Strange thing is I always used to use ATR before they upgraded and just couldn't get on with it so swapped to SL now they gone and done the same

TF is easier to "read" as smaller type and less colours! ATR pretty "good" layout otherwise.

Choniac-Yep they are taking the 'it will be alright on the night' approach no mention of 'we are aware of the negative feedback but will strive to put things right please be patient' approach which does not bode well. No doubt the responsible person has plenty of clout.

Any form older than ten years has also been removed which was a useful when researching big races or getting nostalgic. It was all there yesterday. Gone today.

Another perfectly good racing website ruined! Stopped using ATR bar the odd reply since they "upgraded" their site. When the Racing Post site goes full retard I will stop using that site too. Will there actually be any user friendly racing websites left?

First BF changed the site for the worse. Yesterday the RP completely ****ked their site up. Now SL do likewise.

found atr search now, have to juggle between atr and ruk sites to view replays now, the sporting life comment that they are going to add football divisions to the site is laughable, isn't that the first thing that should be their on a football site

I concur with Breeding. Look at how these sites make their money, ATR & Racing Post are continually pushing bookmakers with sign up offers and what have you. They get a commission from these bookies form all the losing punters they push their way and in the case of the Sporting Life they are actually owned by a bookmaker. It's in their best interest to give less and less useful information to punters who visit their sites.  Around 90% of my betting is on the top class stuff but that is about to get even higher now that I can only rely on paper form for what I need.

And another thing - you can no longer see all the results from one meeting on the same page.

Just looked up a Race at Warwick tomorrow. No SP F/C  prices being shown !!! What the hell are these people playing at.
Is this a sign of things to come. I.e on the Racing Post site, you can't view F/C prices for  next day races before 9.30 am on the day of the races, unless you pay a monthly subscription.
I do hope SL aren't going down this slippery slope !!!

Actually whilst I am fed up with these so called upgrades I only use the SL webite for a couple of things and one of those - Fast Results - has improved.

Would be a bit better if they still showed the whole racecard as before, looks a mess the way it is now, shame. Iwouldnt pay a tanner for the new format to be honest, the old one seemed okay to me.

The new site isn't much good for form study.

You can't read the comments, going or weight carried without opening up the race.
They don't even distinguish between turf and AW on the list page.
As for the betting moves they don't give them at all.

Surely, IF they actually DO have any brains - by monitoring and comparing the TRAFFIC/HITS to the 'face-saving' sportingLIVE (original) site against the catastrophic NEW sportingliFe  site - they would surely see that practically EVERYBODY will  be visiting, and using, the (old) LIVE site - whilst NOBODY will be even attempting to look at the NEW debacle.

It looks like they have launched, or had to, this sportingLIVE site in response to the overwhelming negative feedback that they will have received - and  also, perhaps, as a consequence of reading this thread.

They have made Gerald Ratner look like an absolute amateur, with their undeniable c0ck-up.

Today after I clicked it, I found the new site had taken its place.

Then I was told I could find the old site under co.uk instead of .com.

The link to the old site can be found above, 9 posts from the top of the page.

It's called Sportinglive.co.uk

So they've changed the name as well.

my favourite website has been ruined! it wasn't broke so why fix it? visually it looks horrendous, my eyes can't adjust to anything on there. It looks like it's been built for a mobile phone or pad, definitely made to be viewed on a portrait screen

Like yourself - I accessed sportinglife.com on a daily basis, from a BOOKMARK - aswell as  subscribing to RacingPost.com.

But I cannot see ANYTHING on sportinglife.com telling me about sportingLIVE.

If there is - as you INTIMATE - then where is it?  ...

What you've put in bold referrers to the new site.

Click on the link to the old site and you find yourself on the new site.

Doing it that way ensures users of the old site will get to see the new site. Without having to decide to go there.

No one knew there was a new site until they were on it.
