I had a moan at RP customer services earlier in the week concerning the lack of the win only form tab thats disappeared and got this back :
Dear lordnoise, Thank you for your query regarding the new Racing Post website. Although the wins only tab is no longer available we are pleased to advise that horse profile pages on the new site are now equipped with 'sortable' columns. So, simply tap/click on the column header titled 'Pos.' and each run will be sorted by finishing position. This facility is also available for the remaining columns such as GNG (Going) and DIST (Distance). We hope this information is helpful. Kind regards, Racing Post Customer Services |

By:
Yes lordnoise, they've replace the win column, with a wins first, then seconds, then thirds, column.
So really they just ignored your query. It's a wonder they didn't direct you to the ATR site for the missing win prize money total. That seems to be their attitude if your experience with them is any criterion. |

Hang on lordnoise, I miss read that before I answered.
Scrub my last post. |

misread.

It beggars belief sometimes. If it's not broken.....
I very much doubt if I will ever own a tablet and as long as I can get into the old website I'm happy. I hope the brains behind this new idea monitor how many keep with the original website. |

sparrow, being techy clueless, what would happen if I didn't clear cookies first? |
|
By:
stewarty I've used a tablet on holiday for the racingpost site. For reading the cards and form.
I've never had a problem with it. How could the new site be any better? |
|
By:
rumpus it's on the top bar menu to the left of search,
when i've looked it has horses you've deleted and doesn't always give you the horses running for definite just the entries, also you have to click on another button to get you notes up on said horse and for some reason can't delete...only good thing is it list the horse in race times descending |

Or just save this to your favourites and remember to clear cookies first. sparrow, being techy clueless, what would happen if I didn't clear cookies first? You would simply get the beta site by not clearing the cookies. |
|
By:
For serious form students who keep there own handicaps it's so much more like hard work navigating the site as against the old site but we have no alternative have we please tell me if so
|

Where can you get the tips box with press selections?

Nope, tried all browsers cleared cookies downloaded and installed new browsers the address http://www.racingpost.com/ now only sends you to the beta site.
TBF i only ever used it when it was free, i paid for members club once but then found at the races browser. IMO it's a far better/superior site with much more information. AND IT'S FREE |

We regret to inform you that m.racingpost.com is closing. The site will close permanently on Tuesday, February 7, with users being redirected to our new-look racingpost.com.
We know that frequent users of the site will be disappointed and will want to know how they can access the valuable information they have become accustomed to. Our new-look website is responsive: whether you’re on mobile, tablet or desktop you can access all our content in a format to suit your device. With this in mind, we decided m.racingpost.com was no longer required. Firefox here too |

In anticipation of losing the old site. I've managed to get a studying routine going using the Sporting Life and ATR.
All the information I need is there. Of course it all depends on each individuals approach to studying and what they're looking for. Needless to say I won't be subscribing to the new Racingpost site at all anymore. So they can throw the new site and the old site with it, in the skip as far as I'm concerned. |
|
By:
You would simply get the beta site by not clearing the cookies.
Sorry for the delay sparrow. I have been on the old site since you gave the link and have not cleared cookies or changed anything else. |
|
By:
* I should add I have never subscribed to the RP. All the info that I NEED is free.
|
|
By:
me too Dr Crippen, I'll keep using it while the old site is available. I've already cancelled subscription and told them why, but they don't seem that fussed. Asked them when old site will be going , was told probably the end of March.

i would never study form on my mobile either but every now and again you want to see the form when not near a computer and now you can, the site looks good to me on mobile has not drastically changed on desktop from the old version
not sure what people are talking about the prize money, you can see horses earnings on the profile page, not that its something ive ever been interested in when studying a race dont see what the big deal is anyway if you have to go elsewhere for something specific, I have racingpost for form, sportinglife for video, pedigreequery for pedigree and google for quotes open when im studying, used to have atr as well but not much now since the new site never going to get everything in one place but racingpost has always been the best place to study the form and I dont see that changing any time soon, if you are a memeber at rp you dont even need pedigreequery and google because they have the mares info and quotes as well, I just wouldnt pay for it just to have it in one place when the info is free in another tab, as far as im concerned if its in my browser then it is in one place |
|
By:
I've used the old RP for studying on a 7'' tablet no problem.
The point about the earnings is this: On the old site the win prize money is listed separately from the total win and place prize money. On the new site all prize money is lumped together as earnings. If you divide the total win prize money by the horses number of wins, you get a figure for each horse. A class/win rating. VDW people will be very familiar with it. This is not possible without going to a lot of trouble on the new site. Many people use methods that work around these class/win figures, or at the very least take note of them. They themselves will know how best to use these figures. |
|
By:
maybe its for the best, the horse doesnt know how much its won
![]() |
|
By:
And more to the point; neither do punters know how much the horse has won if they use the new RacingPost site.
|
|
By:
![]() you look at a horses record in a class, I dont see why the prizemoney is in anyway relevant, it seems like useless information to me, when I scrape the rp site its not something im interested in |
|
By:
Some horses earn more in place money than they do in win prize money.
I think that's a fact worth knowing. |
|
By:
You'll be alright with the new site then oneyallbeenwaiting.
|
|
By:
but wouldnt you deduce that from its form anyway? ie it places a lot more than it wins
most horses have not won that many races, so you could get a rough estimate quickly from looking at the earnings, again I dont see why you would need an accurate figure for that but if you feel like you really need to know that figure then do a simple division in the calc? |
|
By:
Like I said before, people who use them know how best to use those figures.
